In an ideal location overlooking a large duck pond and with distant views to the South Downs. It is a great base for walking the Wealdway or cycling the Cuckoo Trail. Places to explore include Lewes and Eastbourne, 9 miles. Glyndebourne 6 miles. An excellent pub and restaurant is within a ten minute walk along country footpaths. The village shop 2 miles. The space The Cart Lodge is a delightful place to stay, beautifully renovated and tastefully furnished, with an open plan living/kitchen area and a cosy woodburner for those chilly evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher and a fridge with freezer compartment, washer/dryer. The bedroom has a beautiful iron bed made up with Egyptian cotton sheets and a vintage welsh blanket. There is a stylish en-suite shower room with cosy white cotton towels. Guest access Parking is at the front of the property with a private grassed area at the rear. Other things to note Accessed by an unmade track, it is a great base for exploring the area, if it's walking the Wealdway or cycling the Cuckoo Trail with 14 miles of pathways along the old Heathfield to Eastbourne railway. Further afield include Lewes and Eastbourne, both approximately 9 miles. Glyndebourne is 6 miles and Royal Tunbridge Wells is 13 miles. More locally are Charleston Farmhouse and Firle Place. If it's the sea you want then there's the spectacular Birling Gap with all it's beautiful coastline and the South Downs with fantastic views and walks. The Hastings Contemporary at Hastings and De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill are 20 miles away. Good main line rail links to London Victoria from Polegate (1 hour 20 minutes), and there is also an excellent pub and restaurant within a ten minute walk along country footpaths.
