Description

A charming, rustic cabin with a wood stove, outhouse nearby & comfy beds where you supply your own bedding & bring camping gear. NO RUNNING WATER, ELECTRICITY OR WIFI. Nestled in Tamihi Meadows RV Park along the Chilliwack River, 5 min's from our beach. *Only highly rated guests will be considered. Click “Show More” to read the full listing. NO BOOKINGS ACCEPTED UNTIL THE ENTIRE AD IS READ & YOU AGREE TO ALL RULES! Long weekends require a minimum 3-night stay, including both Fri. and Sat. The space ***YOU MUST READ THE WHOLE AD CAREFULLY & AGREE TO ALL RULES BEFORE BOOKING as we don't want anybody to be unpleasantly surprised or come unprepared. THIS IS CABIN #3, "The Rodfathers" This cabin is the smallest, newest & cutest of these 3 cabins & is right next to Cabin 1 so doesn't have much privacy outside. You can park directly behind it. LONG WEEKENDS ARE A MIN. 3 NIGHT STAY & must include Friday & Saturday. Regular weekends are a minimum of 2 nights. If a listing is not booked by Friday @ 8:30 pm, exceptions will be made. You must be a minimum of 21 years old to book. We are no longer accepting reservation requests from guests with lower ratings, especially those with previous concerns regarding house rules. This decision has been made due to repeated issues in the past, and we appreciate your understanding. I try for full disclosure so people aren't unpleasantly surprised! Please check the “Other Details To Note” on this ad for more information. WHAT YOU GET: These are TINY, RUSTIC sleeping cabins ***DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE FISHERMEN & HUNTERS!!!  VERY BASIC back to nature, think wooden tent with a wood stove, that you can cook on & comfortable beds, a  futon, a small table, night stand, & 2 or 3 chairs only!)  No pots, pans, dish ware, utensils, bedding or toilet paper. You can cook over your campfire (as long as there isn't a provincial fire ban in place). Although it will sleep 7, it is very crowded with that many. The futon is at most a double size & is more suitable for 2 smaller children. The furniture is not meant to be featured in Better Homes & Gardens!  There is damage & stains on tables etc.    Each cabin has a small deck with a table & 2 chairs, an outside fire pit & a picnic table. We can supply an outdoor solar shower (only good for the warm seasons), that you can fill from the tap in the campground. There is a deposit, just ask the camp host for it. This is one of 3 TINY(!) rustic cabins in the forest along a stream & pond, each with 2 tiny bedrooms. It is in a completely separate area from our campground. Our newer (not rustic) cabins "The Chick Inn" & "The Trailer Trash Tacky Shack" are in a different area of our Tamihi Meadows RV Park that overlooks the Chilliwack River rapids & close to the stairs to the beach. YOU NEED TO BRING: Sleeping bags & your own sheet to cover the bed, cooking supplies, lanterns, (no candles) & toilet paper. Bring basically everything that you'd need for tenting (except the tent). IMPORTANT: These accommodations are not suitable for guests who are loud, entitled, negative, finicky, very sensitive, or who struggle to follow rules. They are also not a good fit for those who are easily offended, bothered by the natural setting, including mice, outhouse smells (in the outhouse), or who expect hotel-level perfection. You'd need to click on the "Show All Photos" on the main picture to see the rest of the pictures. Be aware that some pictures make the cabin appear bigger as we had to use a wide-angle lens to get it all in. ONLY WELL BEHAVED & ALWAYS SUPERVISED CHILDREN PERMITTED! We want to be able to continue to allow children but we've had A LOT of damage done by them ripping moss off of trees, taking axes to trees & logs, damaging playground equipment etc. ***Children must be with an adult as they are cougars bait. It is rare that they will bother an adult, but a child is an easy target. We want our place to be a place to relax in serenity & enjoy the wilderness sounds, so you don't have to listen to other's music playing from your neighbours (which may not be to your taste). This is NOT a place to drink heavily or be loud. Pet Policy – Please Read Carefully To ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for all our guests, we kindly ask that you follow the pet guidelines below during your stay: We welcome quiet, well-mannered pets that are freshly bathed, and do not bark excessively. They must be added to your reservation in advance. Failure to do so will result in the pet fee being doubled. • They are not allowed on any furniture and must be on a leash at all times when outside the cabin. • They may not be left unattended in or around the cabin at any time. • Please clean up after your pet immediately and dispose of waste properly. To help ensure compliance, a $25 fee per violation will be applied for any infractions. CLEANING: There is only a $15. cleaning fee for a very basic FAST clean! If you wish to have it cleaner, let us know & we will do it, but will charge you accordingly. Don't mark us down if it's not to your specifications, as my ad is really clear about who these are suited for. The cabin & surroundings are expected to be left basically as you found them as the cleaning fee covers only a quick 10 min. sweep & wipe-down inside. We only charge those that we get charged extra to clean up after to avoid having to up the cleaning fee for everyone. These glamping cabins are NOT like motel rooms!  You may even see dust bunnies as it's very difficult to clean all the way under the beds in the VERY tiny bedrooms so are only suitable for non-fussy people that just want to de-stress & get back to nature. OUTHOUSE: The outhouse smells like one! It is kept locked to ensure it is only used by the people in the cabins as there is only one there. The key is on the cabin key ring. ***You must bring your own toilet paper & please don't leave it in the outhouse as mice will shred it & make a mess! If left in a container it gets very damp.   ***If you are one of those people who think it's ok to go in the bush & on the grounds around the cabin & leave your toilet paper etc or dump your garbage in the porta potty - DON'T COME HERE! We will levy a minimum $30. charge for that (& $100. if we have to pick your bag of garbage from the porta potty)! (We have had to put in night vision game cameras by the porta potties there because of that).   Portable toilets are sometimes available for rent to put in the cabin if you prefer, (but must be dumped & rinsed out before returning them). FIREWOOD: You can purchase firewood here from the camp host, it's $9 (cash only) for a very large bag or you can bring your own. No construction wood & no taking wood including deadfall from our property. Firewood is only available between 9:00 AM & 8:00 PM (only). If you are coming in at 9, you can ask in advance to have wood left out for you.    Only paper & wood to be burnt in the fireplace or firepit. GARBAGE: Please pack out everything you bring in. Even small items like litter or cigarette butts left outside will result in additional cleaning fees. PHONE SERVICE: Most guests have no problem with cell reception outside (there is a metal roof on the cabins which hampers service inside though). If you experience any issues, we have a signal booster at the covered picnic shelter (just above the stairs to the beach). You must list the names of all adults, as some people have been banned & try to come back on another persons booking. No third party bookings permitted. The person making the reservation must occupy it together with their companions. Please make sure you book the correct number of people as well as the number of pets in the reservation. As we’re in the country, it’s essential to keep the doors closed at all times to prevent mice from getting in. Unfortunately many city people don't understand this concept, so we can't always prevent the mice from getting in. We do put traps in the cabins to try to alleviate this problem. Guest access Our acreage is on 2 levels, guests will have access to the cabin area & in the campground (except in unoccupied sites). You are welcome to go to our beach or the playground! To get to the beach, go over the footbridge & turn right & turn into the camping field. Go under the covered picnic area & the stairs to the beach are there. It is about a 5 minute walk. Other things to note There are 2 vehicles permitted per cabin. REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY!! If you wish to have a visitor, you have to change the amount of people on your reservation, and this must be done IN ADVANCE! You will be charged $25. for each unauthorized visitor and they will be asked to leave the property. Insurance is very expensive & extra people are extra liability, but if booked through Airbnb, they provide their coverage. Any RV's & tents on the property (including camper vans), are only permitted in the campground and must be self-contained (with their own porta potty). Guests from the campground are not permitted in the cabin area, however cabin guests can go visit their friends in the campground, (It isn't too far from the cabins). No access is permitted in unoccupied campsites, You are not permitted to make reservations for third parties. The person making the reservation must occupy it together with their companions. There is a (non-potable) water tap just after the camp host's trailer by the turn off to the cabins & we've just put one in by the cabin outhouse. It is just overflow from our springs & runs most of the time. If it's one of the few times it stops, there is a waterfall/creek about 3 blocks from our gate. We have drank the water from there with no issues but we can't claim that it is potable. Don't complain or ask for money back afterwards if you ignore the following requirements. **PLEASE NOTIFY US IMMEDIATELY IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS OR THE CABIN OR OUTHOUSE APPEARS NOT CLEANED OR THERE IS DAMAGE (not already listed) to avoid extra charges as everyone says "It wasn't us"!!
