Refurbished March 2024 by our interior designer with modern décor, new kitchen and appliances, this cottage is perfect for larger families or groups. On the ground floor of the cottage, the large, open-plan kitchen and dining area comes equipped with a large dining table designed to seat eight and all the appliances you could need during your stay – including washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and an electric oven and hob. There’s also a CD player and stereo. On the other side of the hallway, the spacious lounge area comes with an LCD TV and comfortable seating – making it the perfect space for unwinding in. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms. These consist of one double, one twin and one family room with a single bed. Two of the bedrooms include contemporary ensuites, whilst there is also a separate bathroom. The master bedroom also features a modern television. The first floor is a real highlight of Hardwick cottage. Not only have the bedrooms recently been upgraded with modern furnishings, they also look out over Darwin Lake itself. What better view to wake up to in the morning? Locally there is something for everyone from activities and attractions for tots and teens to couples, families and groups, from the most active to the more sedate. Children are most welcome. There are excellent places to eat and shop; from traditional local pubs to the many cafe's bars and restaurants of Matlock and a little farther afield Ashbourne and Chesterfield. Bakewell is particularly well-served with its quaint and interesting shopping arcades full of antique, curio and gift shops. Attractions abound in The Peak including steam railways, outdoor activity centres, limestone caverns, pony trekking, museums, Stately homes and amusement parks such as Alton Towers and Gullivers Kingdom.
