La Terrazza is a lovely large, cool 2 bedroom apartment in one of the oldest parts of Podere Patrignone, dating back to the 14th C. It has old chestnut beams, tiled floors, large kitchen-diner, 2 bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom. Sleeps 4-6. From here you enter the oldest part of the house, with the most beautiful arch dating back to 1440. This is the coolest part of the house in the summer. La Terrazza has a large dining room, kitchen and sitting room, with huge old beams and furnished with some lovely old oak furniture. If you prefer to eat outside, feel free to use your own little private terrace, or use the grander Terracotta Terrace just a few yards away. Another arch leads to a large bedroom, which houses antique furniture rescued from an Italian Manor House prior to demolition. It has a magnificent king-size walnut bed with matching wardrobe as well as a small single (suitable for an under-12). The second bedroom is also uniquely furnished with three single beds or a double and a single, with county-style painted wood. This room is suitable for three kids or adults, or 2 adults plus a child. Each room has its own en-suite bathroom with shower, w/c and wash-hand basin. La Terrazza backs onto our ivy-covered enclosed courtyard. This is the first part of the house that was built. Other sections were added one or two rooms at a time as the family prospered or when a son got married (when married, daughters left the household to join the husband's family). This is the largest apartment we have, and the coolest in the summer, but it has a lovely antique feel that takes you back to the days when the house was built.
