"Anstalten" - Cabin at Tingnes, Nes in Hedmark

"Anstalten på Tandem" Back to basics - the simple life in the countryside. Charming granary/cabin located on historic grounds in idyllic surroundings on Tingnes. Ideal for 2 people. Electricity is available, but no water. Outdoor toilet and outdoor shower. Great views of Mjøsa and Helgøya. Short distance to Tingnes city center, with beach and among other things shop (open on Sundays in the summer season), café, dining, playground, rental of bicycles and kayak/boat. Many nice hiking opportunities and activities on Nes and Helgøya. The space Stabburet is located on parts of the foundation wall of what used to be Tandem Sanatorium, a rehabilitation center for alcoholics and morphine addicts, also called "Anstalten", established by Dr. Johan Holm in 1888. Several famous people have stayed here, including the painter Christian Krohg and the Swedish poet Gustaf Fröding. It's simple but cozy standard! The cabin consists of a hallway with a laundry room (extension), a living room with a kitchenette and sofa group and a loft with a double bed. Electricity is available, but not water. Outdoor shower. Outdoor toilet. Stove and some kitchen utensils available for simple cooking. Refrigerator, kettle and water heater. Nespresso machine and French press for coffee. Washing hook and sink in the hallway. Fire pan by patio. Best suited for two adults. In addition to the double bed, there are two single extra mattresses available on the loft (can be used for children, but let us know if you are more than two people). Please note that stairs to the loft are steep and do not have railings. Not suitable for small children and people with reduced mobility. Consider whether it poses a danger to your child. Guests clean the cabin themselves. We live on the neighboring property (farm). Water available at the barn, 50 meters from the cabin. (Not in the cold season, then you will get water from us). If you do not have bed linen and towels yourself, you can rent this from us. The cabin is located next to a farm and in the middle of an active agricultural area. There is noise in connection with this. During the harvest period in the autumn, extra noise (machine and fan noise) must be expected due to harvesting activity and drying of grain in the building nearby. The place is basically closed/restricted for rent during the winter season and bookings far in advance. Please contact the host if you'd like to book during a blocked period or during the cold season, and we'll find out if it's right for you! Other things to note There is Wi-Fi, but the connection can sometimes be unstable. The place is in the middle of an active agricultural area and there is noise in connection with this.
