Eagle's Rest, Geary, Isle of Skye

Eagle's Rest is a cosy, modern retreat on the secluded Waternish peninsula. Offering panoramic views across Loch Snizort and the Ascrib islands, our location is ideal for exploring Skye or simply relaxing with a beautiful view and amazing wildlife. Eagle's Rest is well-equipped with a super king bed, kitchen, TV, WiFi and mobile signal (rare on Skye!), parking, hot tub as well as a private garden and small balcony. The space Eagle's Rest has an open-plan kitchen/lounge/dining area and bathroom downstairs. Upstairs, there is a bedroom with built-in wardrobe and access to a small balcony and garden area for your private use- great for watching the sunrise over the loch with a cup of coffee. The outdoor electric hot tub is for guests unlimited private use at no extra charge. Please note that as we change the water between guests it might not be up to temperature on the first night of your stay. Binoculars are provided for nature-lovers. Sea & Golden Eagles, dolphins, seals, whales and even on occasion the Aurora Borealis have all been seen from here. Electric heating throughout with a feature fireplace keep the house cosy even on the coldest Scottish nights. The bathroom contains an electric shower and heated towel rail. The kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob, oven and microwave, along with a fridge, coffee machine and all the usual essentials. A washing machine is also provided. The rooflight window set above the bed is perfect for stargazing during our long winter nights (we are located in an official Dark Sky area). For those that need to keep in touch with the outside world, we have unlimited free WiFi and a desk area for work. Geary is also one of the best-served locations on Skye for mobile signal. Due to building regulations, the internal space-saving staircase to the bedroom is steep and not suitable for those with mobility problems. There is an additional external staircase to the bedroom which is much easier to navigate with suitcases etc (we're happy to assist with any lifting). Please also note that there is restricted head height in parts of the bedroom due to the sloping ceiling. Eagle's Rest is a self-contained annex situated in an elevated position behind our main house. However, it is very private and not directly overlooked with its own separate parking and garden areas. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but we do ask that they remain downstairs when inside. The rear garden is not secure. Other things to note Please don't expect to "do" Skye in a couple of days. Skye is a large island and it takes a long time to get around. We would strongly recommend staying for at least 3 nights if you'd like to visit the most popular tourist sites.
