Lille Ullandshagen

Cabin/holiday home near Lillehammer. Lille-Ullandshagen is an idyllic old croft located on the farm Vesle Ulland in Saksumdal, 600 m.a.s.l., about 20 km west of Lillehammer city. The cabin is perfect for those who seek the good old cabin feeling without too many amenities. The space The cabin has a traditional standard. Everything here is made of natural materials. The house is heated with wood. There is no mains power, but 12v solar power. The first floor is a large open kitchen solution with a large dining table and oven/fireplace. The 2nd floor has three bedrooms and a small "loft" for luggage. The fridge with freezer is gas powered. The stove is also powered by gas. In the woodshed on the outside there is a simple shower that works with a bucket of hot water and an electric pump. There is also a sauna, these two rooms work best when it is not winter. In the shed is also the outhouse. In summer there is cold water in the cabin. There is great nature around the cabin. Here are both challenging and flatter hiking opportunities. There is a small lake about one km away which is nice to swim in. If you move further up the hillside you come to a completely untouched natural area with marshes and magical forest. Around the cabin there is some cultivated land, but apart from that you can usually neither see nor hear civilization. There is a lot of wildlife here and it is not uncommon to see wild animals such as hare, deer, moose, squirrel, badger, etc. In winter, you can avoid groomed slopes and move freely without thinking that it gives a significant CO2 footprint to prepare the slopes. If you want to go skiing on trails, it is a short drive away. It is recommended to check the app called Skisporet. Please be advised that the road the last kilometer up to the cabin is steep, bumpy and challenging to drive. It is recommended to park at the host's farm about one km away from the cabin. If you want to drive all the way up, you will usually need a high 4-wheel drive. In spring and autumn, the road is not passable by car. The host can, by further agreement, assist in transporting goods and luggage by tractor from the farm to the cabin. Other things to note There is an instruction on how the oven, stove and fridge work. Please note that there is no 220 volt power in the cabin, but 12 volt.
