Be enticed by the awakening of your senses. Smell the sweet scent of the flowers and fynbos, the serenade of the frogs, the sight of colorful birds, taste the aroma of fruits and veggies from our vegetable garden and orchard. Ideal for a couple or a couple with a child (not suitable for 3 adults). Mountain, garden, pond (filled with rainfall, season dependent. Not just a room in someone's house or sharing common areas. Your own little piece of tranquility. Our dogs roam freely in the property. The space Feel like you are at nature's doorstep. Private and cozy garden cottage with a beautiful view of the Storms River peak. It is equipped with cutlery, dishes, pots, pans. Also, a two ring stove and a 25l oven, toaster, microwave, bar fridge and a kettle. The bed linen, towels and blankets are provided. The cottage is built for year round accommodation. You have privacy and you are not sharing the space with another couple. No common areas. Cook outdoors on the stove or have a barbecue. Pick and choose your vegetables from our selection in our own no pesticides veggie patch. Superb variety of seasoned wood for barbecues , in South Africa we call it a braai . Blackwood, English Oak etc. We can help you set it up, please note that the wood is not for free. We kindly ask you to settle with us. Our local shop caters for the basic needs, therefore, it will be better to come prepared. Guest access Our property is large and we will be very happy to see you exploring it. We can guide you through our garden and also you can sit and watch the bees do their work. Other things to note We have a gas geyser that is somehow temperamental. Please turn the hot tap (left on the shower) for about 30/40 seconds, then turn the cold tap slowly. You might have to adjust the temperature while in the shower. We have a vegetable garden, you are welcome to share the produce and the delicious bounty is seasonal and varied. Our dogs, cat and bunny roam freely in our property Seed swapping of heirloom varieties is especially encouraged, bring some, go home with some. Mushroom forays can be arranged in April & May (weather depedant) too for those interested in discovering the world's best, worm free porcini, Saffron milk caps and if one is lucky Chicken of the woods. There's a local mini market with basic supplies. Otherwise, we suggest you to bring some meat and other products from a supermarket. The supermarkets nearby are in Kareedow (30 minutes away) or Plettenberg Bay (55 minutes away and passing a toll road).
