A really special cottage tucked away amongst 30 acres of privately owned mountain woodland. There are wonderful walks from the front door - in all seasons. A swimming lake and request stop on the Ffestiniog railway are all a short walk away. ACCESS: We are situated 3/4 mile from the main road along a track which is rough, narrow and steep in places. (Not suitable for unconfident drivers.) Only available for part of the year on Airbnb. The space Hafod cottage is a cosy place to relax and enjoy nature. There are books to read and CD's of music to listen to. The LIVING AND DINING ROOM is light and spacious with comfy armchairs and sofa, and a large wooden dining table and chairs. A WOOD BURNING STOVE heats the living area and radiators throughout the house. We supply FIREWOOD and/or coal: this is a limited supply and if you need more you can buy coal locally. The KITCHEN is well equipped with a full size cooker, oven and grill, fridge, washing machine. Large BATHROOM with shower, WC and basin (on ground floor). There are three bedrooms: BEDROOM 1: double bed BEDROOM 2: small double and single beds BEDROOM 3: single bed (on ground floor) and the cottage comfortably sleeps 3 - 5 people. You are welcome to bring 1 or 2 well behaved dogs. (Dogs are not allowed on furniture or in bedrooms). There are steps leading down to the cottage. Guest access The whole cottage is all yours during your stay. It is private and secluded and set in 30 acres of privately owned woodland. WOODLAND PASTURE scheme with a couple of cows grazing our 30 acres of land. The garden around the cottage is fenced to keep cows out. You may meet cows on the track. The hope is to create a more diverse habitat for wildlife. Hafod is owned by Noelle and Richard. Their land is surrounded by land owned and managed by the Snowdonia National Park, Woodland Trust, National Trust and mixed forestry. There are miles of footpaths and tracks for you to enjoy, and three lakes all within easy walking distance - one of which is perfect for wild swimming. Other things to note Guests need to BRING their own bedlinen and towels. Double and single duvets and pillows provided. Mains electricity is charged at 30p per unit (read meter on arrival). ACCESS: Hafod cottage is 3/4 mile from the road along a track that is rough, narrow and steep in places. It is passable for normal cars, but not recommended for timid drivers (we drive a large Citroen C5 and small Toyota Iago). It is not suitable for low slung cars or wide vehicles as the railway crossing is narrow (transit van width is maximum). Please contact us if you are unsure. There are shallow steps and a slope down to the cottage from the gate where you park your car. NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES.
