Open Plan Barn near Hungerford and Marlborough

Nestled beside a manor house and surrounded by five acres of gardens, this sumptuous and comfortable open-plan barn offers a relaxing countryside retreat. Ideally located near the charming market towns of Hungerford and Marlborough, it provides the perfect base for exploring the local area. The barn is ideal for a couple or a single guest seeking a quiet and comfortable stay. In the morning, guests can enjoy a simple breakfast selection of cereals, bread, butter, jam and marmalade. The space This open plan barn offers a large comfy super king size bed. With a small desk and internet connection, it can be a perfect place to relax as well as work from. The Kitchenette has a fridge, wine sink, dishwasher, microwave and all china and cutlery required (note: no cooker). The seating area seats 6 people, and the shower room has a large power shower, underfloor heating and a towel rail for the fluffy towels. Guest access You will have sole use of the barn and are very welcome to walk around the five-acre field and five-acre garden, which boast five walnut trees, numerous fruit trees, and a magnificent Wellingtonia planted in the late 1800s. The small yew garden and the swimming pool remain private for family use only. Under no circumstances are guests permitted to use the pool. The barn is situated on an old cobbled courtyard with an original water pump, and there is a small breakfast table outside. The barn is south-facing, making it a lovely spot to sit on a sunny day. If required, you may also have access to our utility room, which has a washing machine and dryer available for your use (please let us know well in advance if you would like to use this facility). An ironing board and iron are also available in this room. Other things to note The barn is adjacent to the main manor house and is just a five-minute drive from Hungerford railway station. While the station is nearby, we strongly recommend arriving by car so that you can easily explore the many local places of interest. The barn is well located for visiting Newbury Racecourse, enjoying shopping and antique hunting in Hungerford, taking a canal barge trip along the Kennet and Avon Canal, or exploring the charming shops of Marlborough. It is also convenient for attending the Marlborough Summer School, visiting Highclere Castle, and enjoying country walks or cycling in the surrounding countryside. There are also several excellent pubs and restaurants nearby. The barn accommodates a maximum of two guests. We do not allow additional visitors or overnight guests, including babies. If extra guests arrive without prior agreement, a charge of £100 per additional person (including babies) will apply.
