It is a historic building with the Old Watermill still inside the Restaurant. Approx. 150 years old. The farm obtained its name from the old mill. All the wheat from the valley was milled on the farm. At that stage there were hundreds of mills all over the country. In Oct. 2003 Christo and his wife Doret Spies, changed the old building into an a la carte Restaurant, with 12 -4 star rooms next to the Restaurant. We are situated in an area called Schoemanshoek / Schoemanspoort, Cango Valley / Cango Road. We specialize in Venison and Ostrich dishes. When you have passed the Cango Wildlife Ranch it is about 13km to De Oude Meul (Old Mill) Schoemanshoek. Look out for our signpost just before you leave Oudtshoorn. You will be driving past the Cango Ostrich Farm, and just a few kilometers further you will see us on the left side of the road. Arriving from R62 in Oudtshoorn: Follow the road that is leading to the Cango Caves - Baron van Rheede Street. At the third traffic light, turn left into Baron van Reede Street. Follow this road out of town. When you have passed the Cango Wildlife Ranch it is 13km to De Oude Meul (Old Mill) Schoemanshoek. Look out for our signpost just before you leave Oudtshoorn. You will be driving past the Cango Ostrich Farm, and just a few kilometers further you will see us on the left side of the road. From Mosselbay to Oudtshoorn: Take the R328 for 100 km.
