For many, Bakkeveen is known for its beautiful forests, sandy plains, fens, dobben and heathlands. Characteristic is that there is nature reserve almost on all sides of the village. You can walk here for hours or ride a bicycle while the landscape around you keeps changing. A beautiful area for walkers and cyclists. Especially in the summer months, there is a lot of experience in Bakkeveen.
