Description
Built in the 1630 The Old Granary Barn looks on to one of Kent's last working windmills. It's on the Minnis, where cattle and sheep graze. An idyllic and tranquil spot, 8 miles from the historic city of Canterbury. The Old Granary Barn is only 500m from a great pub and a very friendly, well stocked village shop which has everything you may need during your stay. The windmill is open every Sunday and bank holidays throughout the summer for guided tours and cream teas. The space There is a pretty double aspect, double bedroom on the ground floor looking out onto the fields one side and the garden willow tree the other. The mezzanine level above the kitchen has two single beds, the ceilings in here are very low, so it's perfect for children although the beds are full size singles so adults are welcome to and there’s a beautiful view of the windmill. Although being a mezzanine it is open at one end, it is safe for little people as it is boarded at the bottom up to about 4ft. We have plenty of fluffy towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, so you can leave all that at home and travel light! Guest access The cottage has a little garden area with table and chairs and a BBQ in the summer. Guests can also use the Wendy House. Other things to note Guests are very welcome to use our EV car charger situated at our house next door. Just let us know when you would like to use it and we’ll make sure it is ready for you and the gate ls left open. Please note that the electricity you use will be charged to you. Our current tariff is two tier, so charging between 2am and 8am is much cheeper than the rest of the day. Please ask for current kWh tariff.
