Easy walk to River Clyde Glentress/Peebles 30min by car, Edinburgh 40min, Glasgow 50min Regular Direct Bus Service * This is not Glamping! ;-) The space A renovated wooden horse stable with mezzanine bed up a ladder, wood-burning stove (pots/pans/utensils etc provided), kitchen sink with mains drinking water and DIY outdoor (hot!) camping shower. This is simple, rustic living for those who want to be closer to nature, surrounded by trees and birdsong. The site is not completely free of road noise (see satellite image) but with a light wind through leafy trees it's certainly well masked. Winter visitors be sure to bring appropriate day/night wear. See bus timetable for options to Biggar or Coulter, we are halfway between ! Guest access Parking space next to main house then a 3 minute walk into the wood to the cabin. The ground can be muddy so boots are advised! Other things to note This is a small 20 acre private woodland, one of the last few in this valley, in which we ask guests to be peaceful and respect the wildlife it supports. We request that guests stick to paths to and from the cabin and up to the viewpoint along the periphery of the woodland to allow any ground nesting birds or deer to remain undisturbed. ***Please note*** We don't apply a Cleaning Fee to The Bothy, so we ask guests to leave the place as they found it, clean and tidy.
