Description

My house has been described as light and "cosy". It is filled with books, art and interesting things - it is very much a home from home, and not a holiday let. In the winter there is a log burner, in the summer a sunny flint walled garden. Nestled within the South Downs National Park this medieval village has independent and quirky shops, lots of choices of where to eat. Walks to enjoy - nearby is the sea, forest, vineyards, Downs or riverside. London 2 hours by car, 90 mins by train. The space A really bright and airy house which is ideal for a relaxing break. Settle in the book lined sitting room surrounded by original artwork. There is a small but well equipped kitchen, and separate dining room. Thoughtful interior design and comfortable furniture throughout. Plus a log burner for winter evenings. Upstairs there are two comfortable double bedrooms - the front bedroom has a modern bespoke four poster bed, both have ornamental (only) fireplaces. Each bedroom has a dressing table and chair. The bathroom has a large walk in shower and a seven foot tree. The garden is designed with wildlife in mind. The house is 50 meters from Market Square and the High Street. It is possible to walk out to the riverbank without going across a road. Guest access The house and garden are for the sole use of guests for the duration of the visit. Other things to note This is a "dark sky" area, there is no street lighting in the village. There are security lights at the back of the house, but I would still advise guests to bring a torch or ensure they have a torch app on their phones. Once you have got into the house, you might want to pull up at front of the house and unload into the front garden and bring things in through the front door before going off to park the car. But please do be aware that this is a narrow road so please be considerate of other cars ability to pass. Sadly the house is not wheelchair friendly, it also has a fairly steep staircase with a handrail either side. If toddlers or small children are in the house, please keep a close eye on them, there are sharp edges to furniture and artwork that can be damaged. To be more environmental, we have coverless duvets so that between each booking the whole duvet is machine washed, saving damaging chemical dry cleaning. This has thrown a few guests in the past, but hygiene and kindness to the environment are paramount.
