‘Gracie’ - Shepherds Hut near Goodwood.

Welcome to ‘Gracie’, my Shepherds Hut named after a playful goat who befriended me during a recent Airbnb farm stay in New Zealand. Gracie is situated in a peaceful and private setting under the Magnolia tree at the end of my cottage garden. You will have your own private entrance and concealed off road parking .Gracie and the nearby brick Privy , now renovated into a clean and modern shower room , is a far more comfortable option than standard glamping . Free WiFi is also available in Gracie. The space My place is ideal for both single guests and couples visiting this beautiful area. I am located one mile from the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival motor events and four miles from the Goodwood Racecourse. You will have your own designated off road private parking space close to Gracie , which is very safe and concealed . Once you walk through my little garden gate the path leads you around to the entrance of Gracie on your left and the brick shower room on your right ( the distance between the two is approx 3 metres) .Gracie is a very cosy and comfortable Shepherds Hut as it comes with all the ‘ mod cons ‘ including free WiFi. The interior feels light and spacious because I’ve been able to avoid cramming in a small ‘ caravan style’ toilet and shower. The king size bed is raised off the floor with a storage cupboard underneath for your overnight bags and spare blankets should you require them. There are also some board games for you to use should the weather turn inclement. The floor and hand crafted bed are made from a beautiful golden English oak. At the foot of the bed are three fixed wall hooks, perfect to hang your clothes. When you enter Gracie, there is a folding oak table and two chairs located to the left , ideal for relaxing with a cup of tea and a good book. Opposite is the small kitchen with its lovely oak worktop. As our lovely village pub is only 100 metres away , serving delicious locally sourced food and beer , it is assumed that you will only require basic kitchen facilities. These consist of toaster, kettle and microwave as well as a fridge. I will leave you a few essential provisions including milk, butter, bread, cereal and orange juice as well as the usual compliments of tea, coffee and sugar. We do have a very good village Store where you can buy fresh groceries and newspapers, they also do a wonderful cooked breakfast ! Gracie’s decor style is best described as ‘ comfort and fun ‘. The bed is wonderfully warm and comfortable with feather and Down pillows and duvet . A friendly large blue and white papier-mâché Cow head is above the bed , and the trusses have tiny lights( optional ) that can change in colour according to the ‘ mood’ you are after . There are more lights outside: fairy lights in the Magnolia tree if you wish to create a twinkly magical effect, and bistro wall lights on the outside terrace for you to enjoy that glass of wine. There is also a path light ( for 3mins) when you press the button by the garden gate. Next to the terrace is the entrance to your private shower room . This is a small brick building - originally the outhouse or Privy - fully modernised and designed with tiled floor and walls, and a ‘wet room ‘ shower with fixed glass screen. And of course there is a toilet and wash basin, and a powerful fan heater should you require it. All very comfortable and private . Please note I do have other rooms in the cottage listed on Airbnb under the titles of ‘ Cosy flint cottage near Goodwood ‘ and ‘ Glorious Comfort for Goodwood ‘ which may also meet your requirements so please have a look. Guest access You will have your own parking space a few paces away from Gracie. Your own private shower room. There is a small terrace in the garden with a table and a couple of chairs to sit and read or enjoy a glass of wine. Free WiFi available in Gracie and on the terrace. For people with mobility issues , please note that there is a short pathway of ‘log sections’ up to the entrance steps of Gracie - the entrance steps themselves are very stable but do not have a hand rail, likewise the small step ladder onto the bed. I do leave a bed side torch to assist you when leaving Gracie after dark and there is a good exterior door light. Other things to note Gracie is in a quiet and peaceful setting which I hope you will find comfortable and relaxing. Out of respect to my neighbours may I ask that any noise is kept to a minimum after 10pm.
