Living with wood, stone, glass and clay

Ecological construction and sometimes millennia-old materials (wood, stone, clay, steel, and glass) meet modern architecture with thoughtful use of space and intelligent solar technology. We (Christine and Heinz) have fulfilled a dream here near the Rax and built a minimalist and - as we find - very cozy house for our retirement. As long as we are still working in Vienna, we like to rent to people who also want to enjoy this beautiful place. The space The house is very compact for ecological reasons and was built by the company Pro Nautur Haus Obritzberger GmbH in 3484 Grafenwörth. It (offers at the same time (among other things by the use of noble Italian multi-function furniture and thoughtful window positions) a very generous room experience for 4-6 people. The decor is largely self-designed and built in spruce and birch wood. The countertops in the kitchen, table and bench are made of solid oiled oak. The surfaces are treated with ecological oils and waxes, which makes the house an ideal refuge for allergy sufferers. For this reason, unfortunately, dogs or cats are not allowed in. The space-saving beds (sofa or desk during the day and comfortable beds at night) are from the Italian company Clei. On the interior walls we have plastered over 2 tons of clay, which gives a very pleasant indoor climate both in summer and in winter. The kitchen is very well equipped (modern induction stove, separate oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, espresso machine and all cooking utensils - except for the microwave, which we intentionally omitted;-)) On the ground floor there is a high-quality hi-fi system, via which you can either play your favourite CDs or feed in your favourite music via smartphone or laptop. On the first floor there is also a TV set that runs via a satellite system. Over 80% of the required heat (heating and hot water) is obtained directly from solar energy and only on cloudy, cold winter days is heated with the cozy wood-burning stove (which automatically charges the heat sink). Guest access You will have the whole house to yourselves. Sometimes we (Chirstine and Heinz) are also on the property, but stay in a separate building.
