A cosy and tastefully decorated cottage in the centre of Ballater.
Bertie Cottage can comfortably sleep six people. The cottage is surprisingly spacious and is tastefully decorated to a high standard, with modern furnishings with hints of tartan and Harris Tweed. There are two good-sized upstairs bedrooms, one king-size and one double bed each with a lovely view to Craig Choillich Hill to the south of Ballater. Downstairs there is a large twin-bedded room which has it's own en-suite shower room. Each bedroom has a wardrobe and plenty of storage space. There is a hairdryer and all linen and towels are provided. Downstairs there is a cosy lounge with two comfortable sofas, a "favourite armchair" and a large footstool with plenty of cushions for your comfort. The woodburning stove is perfect to nestle up to after a day outdoors. There is a Smart TV, DVD player with a selection of DVDs, Blaupunkt bluetooth speaker and games and puzzles for all ages. From the lounge you enter a bright well-equipped kitchen with views to the garden and Craigendarroch Hill beyond. There is a fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. The separate dining room is the perfect room to sit and enjoy a leisurely breakfast with views to Craigendarrioch Hill or to relax over an evening meal and plan the next days activities. The dining room opens out onto a large enclosed deck with a seating area and a separate BBQ area, perfect for outdoor dining. Behind the decking there is some grass with a washing line and further planting. The garden is a fabulous suntrap, the sun can be enjoyed from early morning to the last rays in the evening. There is access to a large lockable shed - perfect for guests to store bikes or golf clubs etc. There is on-street parking directly outside the cottage. Bertie Cottage is located in the centre of the Victorian village of Ballater and has all the amenities of the village on the doorstep. Ballater has many shops, cafes, restaurants and galleries to enjoy, most notably the recently refurbished Old Royal Station minutes from the cottage. From the cottage there are many walks to explore - from the paths along the river, the recently opened Seven Bridges Walk and of course Craigendarroch Hill with it's spectacular views of Ballater and Lochnagar. Ballater is just 7km from Balmoral Castle and Estate, the Royal Family's Scottish holiday home since 1852. Ballater and Royal Deeside has the most stunning scenery and is an ideal base for hill-walking, cycling, fishing, golfing and many more outdoor pursuits.
