A 300-year old thatched, wood-beam farmhouse that just oozes charm, restored and decorated in an eclectic mix of mid-century Danish, contemporary and rustic style. Perfect for a peaceful country get-away on the beautiful island of Møn only 1 1/2 h away from Copenhagen. “Hygge” through and through. The space The ground floor consists of an entrance hall; a newly renovated bathroom with shower, washer/dryer and under-floor heating; the country kitchen; a charming dining/living space with a double pull-out sofa bed; a play room with games, a reading nook and toys; and a large living room featuring full-height ceiling, a wood burning stove, a baby grand piano and two single beds. Our rustic country kitchen is well equipped with a ceramic cook top, large fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. There is a wood burning stove, which we light on cold winter mornings for extra ‘hygge’. There is organic tea and coffee available. The upstairs consists of two bedrooms: The master bedroom features a Duxiana king bed, a desk and nice views of the surrounding fields; and a further bedroom (which you walk through to get to the master bedroom) with two single beds, perfect for children but can easily sleep two adults as well. We have a large secluded garden with fields on three sides. There is a treehouse, fire pit, washing line, BBQ, dining table as well as garden lounge chairs. When in season feel free to pick apples, rhubarb, elderberries, raspberries, red currants and herbs from the herb garden. In the shed you'll find two kids’ bikes and a few older adult bikes, lawn games, hammocks and plenty of firewood for the two wood burning stoves. Guest access You will have the whole house to yourself. The space is perfect for a couple, a family or even two families of four. You may play the piano, ride the bikes, fire up the BBQ, make yourself an organic cappuccino, play the board games, cook with the herbs, eat an apple and turn the rhubarb into a pie. Our favourite aspect of the house is the silence and the closeness to nature. We go for walks and cook with local ingredients. At night, the stars are brighter than anywhere else we’ve seen in Northern Europe. We love our little gem of a house and hope you will look after it as well as we do.
