The Langford Suite at Old Colorado Inn is a 1,150 sq. ft. 2 BR, 2 bath suite located on spacious shared grounds ( 1/2 acre) surrounding a large shared swimming pool with "Golden Mean" dimensions (44 x 27 foot lap pool) and spa. This suite comprises the second floor of the historic Clifton Guest and Fishing Lodge which was built in 1914. This suite is located steps from the scenic Riverwalk on the St. Lucie River and a wide variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment in Downtown Stuart. In 2018, in order to save the home from being demolished in connection with a proposed luxury condominium development, the owners of the Old Colorado Inn relocated the historic structure to the Old Colorado Inn property via barge along the St. Lucie River and performed additional renovations to the home. In the early 1950's Ralph Evinrude (Chairman of the Outboard Marine Corporation) stayed at the Clifton Guest and Fishing Lodge while he was courting the famous movie star, Frances Langford. Evinrude eventually married Langford and the the couple settled down in nearby Jensen Beach and have had a lasting impact on the Treasure Coast due to their generous philanthropic legacy.
