A charming self- contained Guest House near Oxford

Bakery Barn is situated in the small village of Oakley, Buckinghamshire between the historic towns of Thame and Bicester. It is a great location for visiting Bicester Village, Bicester Heritage Centre, Blenheim Palace, Waddesdon Manor and of course Oxford and the beautiful villages of the Cotswolds. There are mainline train stations at Bicester and Haddenham each only about 15mins car journey. The space We carried out the barn conversion in 2008 and live in the main building. We have now converted the Annexe building, situated just across the driveway, into a very comfortable self contained Guest Suite comprising of a lounge/dining/kitchen area plus a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Whilst the kitchen has a microwave oven please note that there is NOT a cooker or hob. There is full sized fridge with small freezer compartment. There will be a selection of breakfast cereals, bread/jams and fruit juice provided plus tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Guest access There is parking on the drive area right outside the annex. Other things to note We do have a village shop now "Oakley Village Store" located in the Village Playing field which is just a short walk away. There is a patio area outside with seating to enjoy a fresh coffee and cakes/pastries. It also sells general groceries, wine, ice creams etc Its a lovely area and the field has a perimeter path to enjoy a walk with benches available if you want to rest. The Chandos Arms pub is also just around the corner! You will find a large out of town Tesco, Marks & Spencer Food Hall, Next and Boots opposite Bicester Village. Thame is 5 miles away and a very pretty market town with a Waitrose and Sainsburys plus a good choice of coffee shops, cafes/restaurants and individual shops. If you are intending to visit local attractions eg Waddesdon, Blenheim, Windsor Castle it advisable to check the relevant websites to check opening times. Its often sensible to book online as well as they do get busy in holiday seasons - Summer and Christmas!
