Set in its own mature woodlands, with private access to the tranquil River Brosna overlooking a peaceful country village, right in the heart of Ireland. Just over 100 kilometres from Dublin & Galway, the house is within close proximity (9km) to the M6 motorway. Guest access The manor is equipped with open fire, electric storage heaters and wifi to keep you cosy and connected during your stay. Each bedroom has flat-screen TV's, hair-dryers, storage units and ample space to relax and unwind after spending your days exploring the beautiful locations Ireland has to offer. The house also offers 3 lavishly furnished reception rooms, tennis courts, fully equipped games/old style bar room (pool table, ping pong can be added to pool tableetc), soft archery, kids play room, tennis court, beautiful rock gardens, riverside walks and your very own folly. The historic house is located in a peaceful setting adjacent to many of the midlands famous heritage and tourism attractions incl Clonmacnoise, Durrow abbey, St Manchans Shrine (crafted at Clonmacnoise) and Lough Boora Parklands. For hiking and walking enthusiasts: We are lucky to be located right in the center of Ireland meaning all parts of the Island can be accessed within a couple of hours. Close by we have ample walking/hiking tracks such as the Clara bog, turraun wetlands, Slieve Bloom Mountains (Glenbarrow Loop, Kinnitty, Cadamstown and Rosenalis), Lough Boora Parklands, the "Old Rail Trail" and the Grand Canal walking trails all within immediate proximity. In the Village of Ballycumber we have a historic walk which brings you back to more ancient times. Glendalough, Wicklow and Connemara are also within 1-2 hours. For cycle enthusiasts: Nearby cycle tracks include turraun wetlands, the "Old Rail Trail Greenway", Lough Boora Parklands, Slieve Blooms as well as the beautiful cycle paths the Grand Canal has to offer. Bicycle hire can be arranged. For golf enthusiasts: There are a superb network of golf courses within close proximity incl Esker Hills, Glasson, Moate, Mount Temple and Tullamore with other large championship courses such as the Heritage, Carton House and the K Club within 1 hours drive. Again golf club hire is available at most of the golf clubs. The angler: You have access to private fishing on the estate, not to mention the Shannon, Grand Canal, Lough Ree and Camcor within 10-30 minutes. Equestrian, water-sports and boat rental facilities are also available nearby. Exploring Ireland's many tourist attractions: The property is just a short distance from the ancient monastic site of Clonmacnoise, Kilbeggan/Lockes & Tullamore Dew Distillery, Birr Castle, Belvedere House and gardens, Athlone Castle and trips on the Shannon. Attractions in Clare (Burren & Cliffs of Moher), Galway(Kylemore Abbey & Galway City) & Dublin(Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Distillery and Trinity College) within 1-2 hours. Cork, Kerry & Belfast can be accessed on day trips with many of our occupants visiting these areas during there stay. Transport: There are excellent bus and train connections to Dublin and Galway within just 10 mins drive, taxi services are also available in the locality. We highly recommend car rental when staying in Ireland as it gives you the freedom to come and go as you like and explore the beauty our area and Island has to offer.
