It is neighbours with 1 Star Michelin Restaurant, La Ribaudiere. The space Bourg-Charente is a busy little town in Summer and fabulous year-round. During the Summer, tall shady trees invite you to while away the hours beside the calm waters of the Charente River, opposite the house, or in our private garden with loungers and picnic tables. Swimming in the Charente River is popular at the designated swimming spot with rope swing. Many of our guests enjoy multiple dips per day. Walk, Bike, Kayak/canoe (rentals are nearby) and Golfing is just 3kms from the house. Fishing is allowed with a permit. No more than 45 mins to 5 Water Parks. We can recommend them all. This property is perfectly located for enjoying a daily excursion to any of the wonderful historic surrounding towns and cities. We are happy to advise! A Michelin starred restaurant is a neighbour, with menu options for most budgets . Treat yourselves! The Bar/Restaurant/Depot de Pain La Maison du Passeur is open for purchasing your daily croissants and baguettes, and you can enjoy an excellent Formule lunch there (booking advised). Food shopping is only 5kms to Jarnac or 10kms to Cognac. Angouleme is only 30mins away, and no more than 45 mins to the ancient city of Saintes or St Jean d'Angely. No pets and No smokers please. No 3rd party renters. Renter must be a house guest for the entire stay. Guest access You have the whole of the house to yourselves. This small cognac producing town is safe to walk around, and swimming in the river is safe, providing vigilance is exercised. Parking is directly outside the house in the public parking lot. Other things to note This property is not suitable for children under the age of 5 due to steep stairs, and unsecured water (Charente River).
