A complimentary 5-gallon spring water dispenser is provided for drinking and cooking. KITCHEN The fully equipped kitchen includes the following: Gas range and oven Refrigerator Microwave Toaster Cookware, dishes, utensils, and essential kitchen supplies ADDITIONAL AMENITIES Complimentary linens and bath towels Propane heat in the main living area Supplemental space heater available if needed Family-friendly games and lake activities PARKING Parking is available in the private driveway with room for your vehicles. The driveway also has space for a boat trailer, if applicable. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cottage and the full driveway during their stay. The driveway provides ample parking for your vehicle and, if applicable, a boat trailer. Please park only in the designated driveway and avoid blocking neighboring properties or the road. From the parking area, you'll walk down a stairway to reach the cottage. Once inside, the cottage is entirely on one level, making it easy to navigate during your stay. Other things to note Guest policy: Any guests beyond the number listed on your reservation will be charged a penalty at $50 per person per night. We reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund if you exceed the maximum occupancy. You will also be subject to a septic system fee. All guests names must be registered with the host. POLICIES No smoking or vaping inside our home. No pets. Must be at least 25 years old to book. Please review all guest policies and additional fees before booking. Additional taxes and fees may apply. Photo ID may be required upon check-in. Access to the home is via a maintained dirt road. The public boat ramp opens Memorial Day weekend. OCCUPANCY & VISITORS Maximum occupancy is 4 people at all times, regardless of age. Only registered guests are permitted on the property unless prior written approval is received from the host. No overnight guests who are not included on the reservation. Gatherings, parties, receptions, or events of any kind are strictly prohibited. PROPERTY CARE The use of silly string, glitter, confetti, confetti cannons, colored powder, water balloons, or similar party materials is prohibited anywhere on the property. Any additional cleaning or damage resulting from their use will be charged to the guest. Please respect our neighbors by keeping noise to a minimum, especially during quiet hours. (9pm - 8am) Please treat our family cottage with care. It has been in our family since the 1950s and is located on a quiet lake enjoyed by families and neighbors. SECURITY For the safety of our guests and property, 4 exterior security cameras are located on the shed, parking area, deck, and yard. They face outward and do not monitor any interior spaces. Tampering with or covering security cameras is prohibited. AIR CONDITIONING Our cottage does not have air conditioning. Because it is located directly on the water, it typically cools down comfortably in the evenings, and multiple fans are provided throughout the cottage for your comfort. Portable air conditioners, window AC units, space heaters, hot plates, deep fryers, or other high-powered appliances may not be brought onto the property without prior approval. For the safety of the property and its electrical system, guests may not bring or install portable air conditioners, window air conditioning units, or any other high-powered cooling appliances. Unauthorized use of these items is not permitted. Tampering with windows or modifying the property to install cooling equipment is prohibited and may result in additional charges for any damage or excessive electrical use. SEPTIC SYSTEM Our cottage is served by a traditional lakefront septic system, which requires a little extra care. Please use only the septic-safe toilet paper provided (additional rolls are located in the cabinet above the toilet). To help protect the septic system, please avoid using excessive amounts of toilet paper, and do not flush wipes (including those labeled "flushable"), paper towels, feminine hygiene products, diapers, cotton swabs, dental floss, or any other items besides septic-safe toilet paper. Our maximum occupancy of 4 guests helps ensure the septic system continues to function properly. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us care for this family cottage and preserve it for future guests. GRILL POLICY Please clean the grill after use and ensure the propane is turned off. FIREWORKS The use of fireworks, explosives, or any other pyrotechnic devices is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property. This policy helps protect our guests, neighbors, wildlife, and the surrounding lake environment and reduces the risk of fire. WATER SPORT EQUIPMENT Water sports equipment is provided as a courtesy. Guests use all kayaks and paddleboards and the floating dock at their own risk. Children must be supervised at all times, and life jackets are recommended. The diving board is a JUMPING BOARD ONLY. Diving is strictly prohibited. The water is too shallow to safely dive from the dock or diving board. Guests assume all risks associated with water activities and are expected to use caution at all times. Please return all boats and water equipment to their designated storage areas before checking out. WEATHER Weather conditions are outside the host's control. Refunds cannot be provided for weather-related events, power outages, or lake conditions beyond our control. CHECK OUT CHECKLIST Thank you for staying with us! We hope you had a wonderful time at Lake Horace. Before you leave, we would appreciate it if you could complete the following: 1. Wash and put away all dishes. 2. Place all trash in the garbage barrel by the garage and secure the lid. 3. Strip the beds that were used and place sheets and used towels in a pile in the primary bedroom. 4. Remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer. 5. Return all kayaks, paddleboards, life jackets, and water toys to their designated storage areas. 6. Turn off all lights, fans, and small appliances. 7. Lock all doors and windows before you leave. 8. Turn off the gas grill (if used) and replace the cover once it has cooled. 9.
