Spacious & charming 2 bed RM APT on the 3rd fl of my home, gives you all the comforts of home while you’re away. We are a quick walk to L&M (Yale) Hospital, Mitchell College, And EB NL Campus. Short drive to the Coast Guard Academy, Conn College, Domion (Millstone) and The US Submarine Base. And if you’re here for fun, we are 1.5 miles to Ocean Beach (borrow our pass for free access) 20 min to Mohegan Sun & 25 to Foxwoods and 15 min to Mystic. Follow us on Insta at 199Thames. You have the whole apartment (1000 sq ft) to yourself and use of the whole property. There are 2 bedrooms but the living room has its own door so you can close it off for privacy. My reviews consistently include words like ‘homey,’ ‘cozy,’ and ‘charming.’ Hopefully you agree! (This is the 3rd fl of my home. Please don’t be shocked by the stairs. ) I have always prided myself on cleanliness and this is reflected on my reviews but it does require some time to get it that way. While I try my best to accommodate early check in requests, I must allow time to clean and I appreciate you respecting that. Please note again that this is a THIRD floor apartment so there are steep exterior stairs involved. Also, this is a family home. I live and work here. I hope you have a great time but please remember our bedrooms are the floor below you. We have an acre of land so you’re welcome to sit on the patio, stroll, throw a ball or enjoy the outdoor fireplace. When it’s warmer you can eat outside or just soak up the sun while you do a little bird watching. I’m always available, as I live and work on the property. Happy to answer questions and ensure your stay is great. Occasionally I travel for work or fun and then my niece, Cassandra is available to assist you. While I live on my own these days, my house is an open door for family and friends alike. My 6 year old great nephew Cameron spends a lot of time here and well once you meet him you’ll realize we all just live in his world. 😁 The newest member of the family is Olive, my Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. She is thrilled to make a ton of noise but really just wants to hug you. She is about a year old and full of anxiety so I’ll apologize for her barking now and say there’s a 50/50 chance she’ll love you or be scared of you. Only she knows why. 🤷‍♀️ I tend to give you space to enjoy your time but please don’t hesitate to ask any questions or just chat. I love that my home will be part of your memories and want to make your stay as special as possible. Please smell the flowers. Have coffee on the patio. Swing on the swing. Relax and enjoy. We are set back from the street on almost an acre of land in a quiet residential neighborhood. But you’re only a mile and a half from The bars, galleries and restaurants of Bank street and 25 minutes to Mohegan And Foxwoods Casinos. We are one block from Toby May Park with a great playground, tennis and basketball courts and 1.5 miles to Ocean Beach. Ocean Beach is a popular stop with a board walk pool, water slides and amusement rides. Borrow our pass for free admission! Super close to Planet Fitness, and every store you can think of. Basically it’s a super convenient spot for all of New London county. New London is an eclectic little city rich in history and very diverse. Check out Fort Trumbull or Lyman Allen Museum to learn your history, walk Bank St for bars, great food and all kinds of art. Hit Ocean Beach to walk the boardwalk in Long Island Sound or take in a show at the Garde Theater. Or just order in some pizza from The Recovery Room and take it easy! We are walking distance to so much, there’s a great bus system and we are about 1.7 miles from the Train station and Ferries. There are several taxi companies as well as Uber, Lyft and even a Zip car spot at Mitchell College, just 3 blocks away. But it is New England so cars are the primary mode of transportation. We have plenty of off street parking but you can park on the street if you really want. :-) The apartment is the third floor of our home. Amazing view but lots of stairs. Pets (dogs, cats, flying squirrels, whatever) and smoking are NOT allowed. We have a check in time of 3:00pm or after and check out by 12:00. These times are based on me having enough time to clean and prep the space while giving you maximum time in the apartment. I’m a 1 woman show with a full time job. PLEASE RESPECT THE TIMES. If you’re traveling with children please take a look in the closet of the back bedroom. There’s a pack’n’play, safety gate and booster seat style high chair. The living room closet holds a queen size air mattress and all the linens to go with it. You’ll also find the iron, ironing board and broom there. We have electric heat so please adjust to your comfort. In the summer we have a mix of fans and portable ACs for when the ocean breeze doesn’t cover it.
