Corner Cottage - character, charm, great location.

We warmly welcome you to Corner Cottage, and to Ringwood; we trust you will find our refurbished cottage comfortable and cosy. We are located on the very edge of the stunning New Forest National Park, and within five minutes walking distance of the historic market town of Ringwood. Its central location is the perfect base for exploring all that the surrounding area has to offer. The space The accommodation is comprised of three bedrooms upstairs: the master has a king size ( 5ft) bed, the second can be configured as two singles or a queen size ( 6ft) zip and link, and the third has bunk beds. These are full size singles with 3ft wide x 6ft 6inches long mattresses. There is also a family bathroom upstairs, with bath and overhead shower. Downstairs there is a cosy lounge and dining room, a fully fitted and equipped modern kitchen, and a convenient downstairs toilet. All the rooms have been newly decorated to an exceptional standard, with every attention given to the smaller details, which we hope will enhance your stay. Outside space consists of a secluded and secure courtyard patio garden, with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. There is allocated off road parking for one vehicle, and further local roadside parking. PLEASE NOTE there is a step up from the pavement to the front of the property, and a step up from the kitchen to the back courtyard. Facilities and Services The property has central heating and radiators in all rooms. There is a television in the lounge, and the wifi code will be available on arrival. The newly fitted kitchen is fully equipped for 6 guests, and has a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, and everything you might need to be fully self-catering. You also have an iron and ironing board, and a hair-dryer in the first and second bedrooms. Each guest is provided with a bath and hand towel, but if you are planning a trip to one of our gorgeous beaches, we suggest you bring your own beach towels please. Pets and children Up to two dogs are welcome, but we do ask that they are not left in the property, or garden, on their own at any time, and are not allowed upstairs. We do provide stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. We are happy to provide a travel cot for your stay. We appreciate that you may like to bring your own, but if we can help lighten your load, then please do ask. We can also provide a high-chair. Likewise, if you would like a z-bed set up for a guest who cannot manage the stairs, we are very happy to help. In short, just give us a call if you have any specific needs and we will do our best to help. Cleaning Protocol We take great pride in the cleanliness of our cottage, especially in the current climate of COVID – 19. Our cleaning standards are in line with the Air B&B guidelines. In the property you will be provided with hand sanitizer, anti-bacterial soap and anti-bacterial surface sprays. History You will notice that we have a picture in the lounge of “Corner Cottage” as it was in the early 1900s: it was then a post office and general stores run by “W. Sprackling”. We believe this was William Sprackling, born in Dorchester, but died in Ringwood in 1919. During our renovations we discovered an old safe underneath the lounge floor, which confirmed that the property had indeed once been used as a commercial premises. Our investigations into the history of the property are ongoing, and we look forward to informing future guests more about its previous owners. Fascinating! Guest access Guests have access to the whole property including the private court yard garden and drive way. There is no access to the garage. Other things to note There is a key box by the front door and a code will be given to you on your day of arrival. There is parking for one vehicle on the left hand side of the driveway, which is to the rear of the property. However there is plenty of road side parking near by.
