We planted a row of Emerald green giant trees as a hedge in front of them, to screen it out. You also look over 5 acres of green meadows with trees in front of the river. The property also features one of the largest mineral collections in the state. 175 tons of white quartz boulders with black inclusions of mica and granite have been hand selected in a local quarry and used for landscaping on the property. The beautiful Swannanoa river can be reached over a short trail to the right of the old barn. There are many secluded places to relax and to unwind. The space is situated in a unique location. Relatively close to town, but still has a country feel in a very safe and friendly neighborhood. Next door is the Swannanoa fire training center that features a fire training tower that is used for exercises a few times per year. On the other side is a self storage facility that has been a quiet and excellent neighbor! The back part of the property is used as a medical hemp farm during the summer months and is not part of the Airbnb rental. It contains a barn that is mostly used for storage, farm equipment, a shipping container that is used for drying as well as a one acre field where a few different hemp varieties are grown. The guests are welcome to experience some of the farm life as well and witness the growth of plants throughout the seasons. The shopping center called Ingles is only 2-3 minutes drive away. Asheville downtown is about a 10 minute drive away. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is about 5 minutes driving distance. There are many hiking possibilities in the nearby Smoky Mountain National park. The famous Biltmore Estate is also only a short distance away. Asheville is called Paris of the South for a reason- it is a metropolitan paradise that celebrates human culture in the form of arts, music, dance, poetry, theater and night life! Asheville is known to have restaurants for any taste as well as over 50 microbreweries and tasting rooms that gave this town the title of "Beer city USA". Guest access The guests will be able to access the home living space consisting of the living room, kitchen, laundry room, master bedroom with bathroom suite, main bathroom and guest bedroom, outdoor deck and will be the only ones living there. The front of the house features plenty of parking options. There are no other tenants or people living on the property. You can enjoy 6 acres of riparian area wetlands to explore with forest, meadows, frog ponds, wildlife and 430 feet of frontage of the Swananoa river. A romantic private trail runs along the right side of the river bank. Other things to note We have a pet friendly policy. All we ask for is that pet owners act responsibly and clean up after their pets. It is not ok to let your dog pee all over the carpet and leave it for somebody else to deal with...;)
