Enjoy quick (10 minutes) access to some of Rhode Island's most beautiful beaches while staying in our charming home on four acres of farmland. Watch Hill and Westerly RI just minutes away. Great leaf-peeping as well during the Fall. Connecticut's Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Shopping Village, and downtown Mystic, a 15 minute drive. We have a beautifully renovated shingle-style home on four undeveloped acres of woods and pasture. We offer a single room with twin beds and Wi-Fi throughout the house. We are mid-way between Boston and New York (about two hours either way) and are close to historic Stonington Borough, Mystic, Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, Misquamicut State Beach and Watch Hill, RI. If we are around (and we usually are) we are happy to provide rides to the beach plus discount and/or free passes to area attractions, e.g. the Seaport, or the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, home to American Impressionism. (Passes are subject to availability. If you are interested in a particular pass, advanced notice helps us reserve one for you, though we will do our best even on short notice to accommodate your requests.) We are also close to great hiking trails and can recommend hikes to suit all levels, from salt marsh strolls to challenging hikes through pristine woodland preserves. (We also recommend the app All Trails to help guide you to and along the nearest trails.) Guests will enjoy private rooms, with access to their own bathroom and personal refrigerator in your room; shared living room space, as well as limited kitchen privileges (coffee machine, microwave, stove for making tea). Please note: our Airbnb guest room is on the second floor of a two-story house, up one flight of stairs. The private bathroom is on the same floor, just adjacent to the bedroom. Once checked in, come and go as you wish. We will provide home made breakfast items (typically granola, fresh fruit and yogurt). I work out of the house and will be present at most times to cater to your needs. We frequently remark on how lucky we feel to live in a place where people come to spend their vacations. Long, romantic walks on the beach, quick shopping trips to Mystic (ten minutes), or Newport (about one hour away), a drive (or easy train ride) to Providence, or Boston, or New York to see a show or visit a museum are all day-trip options. But the best part about the area is the lovely, low-key atmosphere and natural beauty. Amtrak train service is available in nearby Westerly, RI. The Providence (T.F. Greene) Airport is about 40 minutes away, by car. Otherwise, there are local buses, but it is best to have your own car for easy exploring. Parking available on the property. Please let us know your needs in advance (such as food allergies, or recreational/restaurant recommendations) so that we may accommodate you. Also please note, our check in window is 3-5 pm. We understand that not everyone can make that window but do ask that you not check in any later than 10:00 p.m. as we are early to bedders.
