Come and unwind on the peaceful banks of the River Avon just moments from the New Forest National Park. The Garden Flat, tucked away in the hamlet of Bickton, near Fordingbridge offers one or two adults a calm, comfortable retreat. Forming part of a large Victorian country house and surrounded by over an acre of garden, the self-contained studio with outdoor dining is perfect for relaxing, reading and pottering in the fresh air. The space The Accommodation The Garden Flat is a bright and comfortable, deceptively spacious ground floor self-contained studio with a separate kitchen and a shower room. You'll enter through a welcoming hallway with space for coats and walking boots, leading into the studio room with lovely garden views. You have a cosy sitting area, a dining table and chairs, and a comfortable king-sized bed. There is a wall-mounted TV and storage. If you'd like to cook during your stay, you have a separate fully equipped kitchen. It is all-electric with a fan oven and induction hob. There is also a microwave, kettle and a toaster plus a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. For a quick start in the morning, you can eat at the breakfast bar in the kitchen or relax at the table on the patio outside the flat. Coffee, tea and sugar will be provided. The shower room has an enclosed shower and towels are provided for the guests. Outside enjoy your own dining and sun bathing area, along with private off-road parking. Bikes can be stored securely in an adjacent garage. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, though please note there is a family dog and chickens in the garden. The Garden Flat is not suitable for children or infants. The flat has a separate front door with a key lock so you may come and go as you like. The Area The New Forest National Park begins just outside Bickton, with miles of tracks to enjoy on foot, by bike or on horseback. Spend a while simply watching the ponies and donkeys as they wander through the forest, and if you visit in autumn, you may also spot the pigs that are released to feast on the acorn mast. The charming town of Fordingbridge with it's medieval stone bridge is just a 20 minute walk away across the water meadows which form part of the Avon Valley footpath. Bickton is also a wonderful base for exploring Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire. The cathedral city of Salisbury with it's 400 foot spire is just 12 miles to the north, while Winchester, Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Christchurch and the beautiful Jurassic coast are all within easy reach by car. If you'd rather leave the car behind, there is a regular (every 30 minutes) bus service between Salisbury and Bournemouth, with a stop a 5 minute walk from the flat. Whether you're keen to explore or simply want to slow down and relax, the Garden Flat makes a lovely base - ideal for a long weekend escape or a longer, unhurried stay. Guest access The flat is reached through the main gates to the house. It is self-contained with it's own front door with a key lock. There is a dedicated parking space for guests. Please ensure that the main gates are closed after entering or leaving the property. Other things to note The studio is can accommodate two adults but does not have the facilities and is not set up for children and infants.
