Description

The Hidden Oast is a charming, grade-2 listed hideaway in the heart of rural Kent. It’s located on the edge of the historic village of Biddenden, near Ashford. This well-equipped, detached property is situated in a lush garden setting with direct access to footpaths through the Kentish countryside. It's comprised of a super king master bedroom, a twin room, sitting room, kitchen and a large shower room. It has parking for up to two cars. There's easy access to local amenities. The space This oast and barn conversion was originally used for drying hops for making beer. The timber-framed property, which is characterised by its quirky circular rooms, was recently refurnished to a high standard. The cottage, which is set well back from the road, is located in the gardens of the owner’s family home, which itself dates back to the 16th century. Through the owner's adjacent field, there is direct access to the AT9 footpath, perfect for walks in the beautiful Kent countryside. Through the original wooden front door, you gain access to the cosy roundel sitting room (with sofa and rocking chair, Wi-Fi and and TV). Down a few steps, you arrive in the country-style kitchen (equipped with modern electric oven and hob, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and microwave). The modern bathroom is downstairs with a large walk-in shower (but no bath), basin and toilet. In a nearby cupboard, there is a washer/dryer. Upstairs, you arrive on a generous landing / snug area from which you can access the twin room. A further set of steep wooden stairs takes you into the romantic master roundel bedroom with its super king-sized bed, armchair, wardrobe and grand chandelier. There is no central heating but there are powerful thermostatic radiators in every room which keep the cottage lovely and cosy in winter! Guest access The property is found on the outskirts of Biddenden village, accessed via the A274. Given the rural location, most guests will prefer to drive. There is ample off-street parking for up to two vehicles outside the front of the cottage. Biddenden is a pretty English village, dating back to the 10th century, situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Weald of Kent. It is in a great mid-Kent location, giving easy access to everything Kent has to offer.
