Once here, it is hard to believe that the bustle is not far off. The house is southwest facing and gets plenty of sun. You will have a brand new private daylight basement apartment to yourself. This include a living area, full kitchen, private bedroom, full bath and a patio overlooking the water. You'll get a great view of the lake from pretty much anywhere in the apartment. AMENITIES: Kitchen - pots/pans/dinnerware needed to make a full meal, brand new appliances including microwave, oven, dishwasher, toaster, full fridge, French press coffee maker, electric kettle. Coffee, tea, basic spices, some fruit, butter, jam provided for your convenience. Dish soap provided. Bathroom: Full bath with new beautiful stone shower. Plenty of clean towels, shampoo, body wash, moisturizer, tissue provided. Laundry: New washer dryer in unit. Laundry soap provided. Bedroom: Comfy queen bed with plenty of extra sheets and pillows, extra blanket, fan, alarm clock, space heater. Closet with lots of hangers and iron/ironing table. The entire downstairs apartment is for your exclusive use including the downstairs patio with a great view of the lake. You can use the waterfront too. There will be a blue paddleboat with white seats available for guests but you are using the lake and boat at your own risk. You are welcome to use our lifejackets. Please watch little children very carefully. Parking is on the road level. You will see an uncovered parking that can hold about 4 cars. You can park there. Any luggage needs to be rolled/carried down a gravel pathway to the entrance of the basement apartment on the lakeside. The descent should be the equivalent of 3 floors down. We live upstairs with our 2 kids aged 3.5 and 6 and are happy to answer any questions about the property or things to do around, eateries etc. We are happy to interact with you as much or as little as you prefer. We are always reachable by sms/phone too. Ames lake is an oasis close to town. The lake is usually quiet. At night the bullfrogs are the loudest things around. Lots of migratory waterfowl in fall and winter including coots, ruddy ducks, mergansers, grebes, buffleheads, loons, occasional wood duck or ring necked duck. Swallows, kingfishers, turtles and bald eagles are here all year. Beavers inhabit the south end of the lake. July-August are great for swimming with the lake warming up. More intrepid souls have been known to swim much later into the year. Great hiking and mountain biking trails within walking distance. Close to skiing in winter. But the best part is you are still only 15 minutes from civilization. The locals love it here and definitely consider themselves lucky to be privy to this piece of nature's beauty. The community is close knit and people around are helpful. Best access to Ames lake is from SR202. Union hill road is another easy way to get here. You will need a car. No public transport around here. An odd uber will make it out here but not instant service. We are landscaping parts of the waterfront and have roped off unfinished areas. Please use your judgment.
