Cosy log cabin in Røldal

Welcome to our cosy and traditional log cabin with a large, sunny and sheltered terrace, secluded location and stunning views onto the mountains and down to the lake. It is 1km from the Røldal ski centre (15 min walk) and under 1 hour drive to Trolltunga. Great skiing and XC skiing during the winter. Hiking, fishing and outdoor activities in the summer. From the cabin it is 10 minutes drive to Røldal and 30 minutes to Odda. The space You can enjoy a stay in our beautiful log cabin with a woodburning stove, cosy interior and amazing views of the surrounding mountains, lake and waterfalls. If you want to enjoy a peaceful evening around the fire or eat dinner on the terrace in the evening sun after an adventurous day exploring, then our log cabin is for you. The cabin is 40 metres walk from the car park down a set of steps and along a rough path. In the winter this can be deep with snow. Good shoes and a torch are really recommended for this walk, and some people may find this difficult. This means however that the cabin has no immediate neighbours and you will enjoy the private location and undisturbed time on the terrace and area surrounding the cabin. The area around the cabin is great for kids both in the summer for playing in the meadow and woods, and in winter for tobogganing and playing in the snow! Hours of fun to be had! In the winter when alpine skiing, we typically walk uphill to the Røldals-express ski lift which takes about 15 minutes, and when snow conditions allow it is possible to ski all the way back to the cabin. Otherwise driving up to one of the two car parks is the other option for alpine skiing. The best XC skiing options are in Seljestad, Røldal centrum or Haukeli, or up the old road past the ski centre. We really want you to enjoy your stay in our cabin and if you have any questions about trips or activities, we will be happy to recommend you good options for anyone and any weather! The cabin contains some of our personal belongings and we expect all our guests to look after everything. If you let us know in advance, we are happy for well behaved dogs to enjoy the cabin as well. Merlin, our dog often spends time in the cabin with us and therefore if you are allergic to dogs unfortunately it may not be suitable. Guest access You will get to use the whole cabin during your stay. The cabin is 66m2 plus the loft room. There is a room for hanging coats, drying boots etc. Other things to note Our cabin is not suitable for people who are allergic to dogs/ cats. The path down to the cabin from the car park is not lit. It is about 40 m walk down to the cabin from the car and the path can be slippery, especially if wet or snowy. (See photos) If you arrive in the dark it will be useful to have a torch with you!
