Hall Garden Cottage - A Norfolk Countryside Gem

Our picturesque cottage has French windows opening on to a private walled garden, ideal for young kids. Or al fresco dining. Sleeps four, it’s located within easy reach of the North Norfolk coast, Norwich and the Norfolk Broads. The cottage is also 10-15 minutes’ drive to Roarr Dinosaur Park, Pensthorpe, and The Brisley Bell (voted Norfolk’s best pub). Visitors love the cottage because it’s cosy (there’s a wood burner) and full of homely touches including a freshly baked loaf on your arrival. The space The Cottage is ideal for a couple looking for a country mini-break or families holidaying in Norfolk. The snug ground floor is open plan with underfloor heating and a wood burning stove. Families with children love having an enclosed walled garden that opens out from the sitting room’s French windows. Outdoor tables and chairs, and a barbecue are provided for al fresco eating. There is also a work desk to catch up on office emails and free internet is provided. The cottage is well placed to explore Norfolk: Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall, Blickling and Felbrigg Hall are all nearby for those who love English country houses and outstanding gardens. There are endless activities for children nearby, including crabbing and paddling at Blakeney, sailing and paddle boarding at Morston, where you can also take a boat to see the seals. The popular long sandy beaches at Wells and Holkham are perfect for family days out, or long coastal walks. You can also hire bikes and ride them for miles along the coast road. Or, 10 minutes away you can hire bikes for The Marriott Way, a former railway track that offers a car free bike ride into Norwich. Children will also adore The Dinosaur Park, and Pensthorpe Nature Reserve (both 15 minutes' drive away). And the hugely popular Bewilderwood. We are well set up for families - the single room has a pull-out second bed. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. The nearby coast and marshes are famous for birdwatching and the county’s enormous number of parish churches are a draw for the historians. Plus, the cottage is half an hours drive to Norwich - the most medieval city in England. You can buy groceries at Algy's Farm Shop, a few minutes drive away, or visit the nearby market towns of Aylsham, Fakenham, Dereham, Holt and Reepham. There are two gastro pubs 10 minutes' drive away, which attract people from far and wide. Guest access Guests at Garden Cottage have the entire cottage and walled garden for their own private use. Guests can park right outside the cottage, and walk though our garden to Billingford Lakes, great for birdwatching. Other things to note Guest looking forward to some downtime will appreciate our small library of books and DVDs. There are two friendly labradors that live in Philippa's house nearby.
