Situated on a beautiful citrus farm 25km outside Citrusdal, Latjeskloof bed and breakfast provides a tranquil setting to relax and unwind. With great views of the Kouebokkeveld and Cederberg and the Olifants River Valley you couldn’t ask for more in the way of peace and quiet. In August and September come and view the glorious spring flowers of the Western Cape and Namaqualand. Our farm bursts with colour from the daisies, proteas, and all the other glorious indigenous flowers. The space The guest room at Latjeskloof is in our home. It is self-contained with en suite bathroom and has a separate entrance. There is a fridge, microwave, kettle and hair dryer. Also crockery and cutlery. There is a ceiling fan and air conditioner for the summer and heater for the winter. The bathroom has a heated towel rail. Towels, soap and shampoo are available in the bathroom. Breakfast is included and dinner can be provided on request at an additional fee. In Spring, starting early August to be precise, the Namaqualand daisies and other flowers come into full bloom here. There is actually no need to travel all the way to Namaqualand as our flowers here are quite spectacular. Rock art can be seen on our farm. (Cape Town Nambia route) towards Citrusdal. 1 km on turn turn right onto a tarred road (The Baths Road). Travel 16km tar,(this is the turn off to The Baths) carry on 4.5km on gravel road and we're on the right. Take Latjeskloof B&B sign and follow concrete tracks and white arrows. The Front stoep has a great view. Guests may hike the mountain and walk around the farm through citrus orchards. There are Bushmen paintings that depict a good idea of how the San lived. We have several species of bird here. Experienced bird watchers have counted over 200 different types over the years. Other wild life include buck, baboons, dassies, porcupine and wild cat. The wild flowers in Spring are spectacular During your stay We can give guided tours of the Bushmen paintings and orchards. We can also tell you about things to do and places to go in the area eg: Cederberg, West Coast etc. Other things to note We are a small working citrus farm practicing drip irrigation and integrated pest management. 90% of our fruit is exported. We are Global Gap Accredited. During the Spring (August-October) the Southern Olifants River Valley has spectacular wild flowers. We can be of great assistance in this regard as we know where everything is. We have good bird watching. Small wildlife can be seen eg small buck and dassies. Baboons frequently visit our orchards in season. We are enthusiastic about Rock Art and have access to various sites.
