Located within the beautiful village of Rowsley and only a short walk to the impressive Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall is this Victorian stone cottage dating back to the mid 1800’s. Bakewell and Matlock Bath are both within easy reach, being only a short drive or cycle away, making this a perfect base for exploring the beautiful Peak District National Park. The space Ground Floor Living room with a three and two seater sofa, a cosy log burner, Smart TV with freeview, catchup TV and Netflix, and a selection of board games. Fully equipped kitchen / dining with range cooker, fridge / freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. First Floor Master bedroom with double bed, drawers and inbuilt wardrobe. Second bedroom with double bed and bedside drawers. Large bathroom with roll top bath, separate shower and toilet. Gas central heating, fast free WiFi, bed linen, towels, shampoo and soaps are all included, as is tea and coffee facilities. Initial fuel for the log burner also included. Outside To the front of the house is a small garden looking out over open countryside. To the rear is a larger, enclosed courtyard looking out over open countryside with bistro dining table and chairs. There is also private parking for 2 cars. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Guest access The entire cottage is made available to guests. Certain elements of the cottage might not be suitable for some guests, particular younger, elderly or disabled persons. We leave it to you to decide whether you will be comfortable enough during your stay. Please refer to the listing photos, but if you have any questions we are also always on hand to discuss. Key elements to consider: - Access to the rear of the cottage is via two steps without a handrail. The pathway to the front is pebbled, but flat and well lit. - There is one step down into the kitchen from the living room without a handrail. - The internal stairs are somewhat steep, there is a handrail on both sides. - There is a separate shower and bath. - The cottage has a log burner with stone hearth with constitutes a burn/trip hazard. The cottage has central heating in addition so it is not necessary to use this. - There is no travel cot, high chair or stair gate available in the cottage. - Cupboards don’t have child locks installed. Other things to note We do allow our guests to bring their dogs along but we ask that you bring your own dog bed and bowls. They should also be kept downstairs, otherwise an additional cleaning fee may be charged. Although the cottage does undergo a thorough clean after every guest leaves, our cottage may not be suitable for you if you have an allergy.
