Welcome to Barb's By the Lake. Large, bright self contained one bedroom lower suite. Private patio door entrance. Rustic, quiet location. Across the street from pristine Florence Lake. Two minute drive to Costco. Loads of shopping, restaurants, recreational facilities, walking trails and 5 minutes to the highway so it's quick to head downtown or up island. I put a lot of love into making my suite comfortable and cozy including hand painted furniture and bathroom floor. Really comfy bed too. The space I have lived in this home for 22 years and I still love this location. I can see the lake from my house and it is a quiet neighbourhood but we are very close to all the amenities. It only takes 20 minutes to drive into downtown Victoria except in peak driving times when it might take a little longer. You can swim in the lake or hike the numerous trails in the area. There is lots of wildlife including deer, raccoons, tons of birds and at night you can hear the owls and frogs. There are some great restaurants close by as well as shopping galore! We have excellent live theatre, arts and culture as well as lots of quaint little markets to visit. I love to tell visitors about my favourite spots that even some of the locals don't know about. I drove a bus for a seniors day program for many years so am really familiar with the area and some of it's hidden gems. And you will love my fully stocked kitchen if you want to stay in and cook. Then sit out by the fire in the evening and really unwind! Guest access The suite is self contained and if you need to do laundry while you are here I can unlock the door to the laundry room for you. You are also welcome to use the patio and yard. There is a cozy little area in the back with a garden swing or let me know if you want a fire in the evening as I need to apply for a permit for wood fires, but it only takes a minute online. I love sitting by the fire at night or you can enjoy it on your own.**(wood fires are not allowed during the dry season but I do have a propane fire bowl for the dry season). ** Other things to note If you want to bring an extra guest or even two ( for an extra charge of $20/ person)the sofa opens into a very comfy bed.
