Guesthouse in Hollinsclough
Description
Home Farm Cottage: a converted 250 year old barn where the Jagger (packhorse trader) kept the cart and animals. Warm and cosy, it can sleep 5/6. A private space with its own entrance, two and 1/2 bedrooms, a lounge/diner, bathroom (shower and bath). The space has recently been renovated following our hosting of a refugee family. Updated photos will be available shortly but the space looks broadly the same. The space It's very quiet and very dark at night. Most city folk say they've had a brilliant nights sleep. We're right next door and can help with anything you might need which is not in the cottage. Guest access The entire annexe and guest garden is yours for the duration of your stay. We'd be happy to show you around the garden / fields if you're interested. There are plenty of short walks from the property. Other things to note This is real 'countryside'. As such, there may be insects and spiders about (as well as lots of lovely birds as a result!) but if you're not into those sorts of things then please either be prepared - or book a city break! It can be very muddy in the surrounding area - good walking boots / wellies etc are essential in winter. Trainers might be okay in the summer but will likely get very dirty or even wrecked in winter / during rainy spells. We are surrounded by farmland - some fields have cows and sheep in them and sometimes (rarely but it happens so we like to warn guests) slurry! If you love fresh air, nature and the great outdoors then you probably won't worry too much about any of this but if this is not you then Buxton might make a better booking.
