Furnished and decorated by the late Lady Susan Howard with a unique blend of antiques and vintage pieces from Castle Howard itself and carefully chosen contemporary furnishings, the cottage is beautifully appointed. Downstairs comprises a living room with cosy wood burning stove; a second sitting room, also with a wood burning stove; a well-appointed and spacious kitchen/dining room, utility room, shower room/WC and a bedroom suitable for two children. Upstairs two double bedrooms and two bathrooms complete the property. A picturesque garden includes a patio area with outdoor dining table and deck chairs and is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the region. The delightful village of Coneysthorpe on the Castle Howard Estate sits at the heart of the Howardian Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Perfectly placed in rural North Yorkshire; the North York Moors National Park, Yorkshire Coast and medieval city of York are all easily accessible. Castle Howard, which is just a stone's throw from the village, is one of Britain's finest stately homes and was built in the 18th century by Sir John Vanbrugh. The nearby market town of Malton boasts an impressive array of independent food outlets, cafes, restaurants and shops with popular food markets taking place each month. Additional Information: Please note this property is suitable for a maximum of four adults and two children. Up to four well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). Day entry passes to Castle Howard valid for the day of your choice (subject to seasonal public opening times, please click here for more information). The house and gardens are open seasonally (usually from around April to October), however please make sure to check before you visit and book ahead. Guests will receive a £20 voucher to use at the Castle Howard's Farm Shop. Initial wood supply provided in baskets by the wood burning stoves. Children/infants welcome, however not exceeding the maximum capacity of 6 guests in total. Infant equipment is not provided. There is a low archway at the entrance to bedroom one. Guest access Ground Floor: Kitchen/breakfast room With a range cooker and microwave, small fridge and combined fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, breakfast table seating six guests and a dresser. Sitting room With a wood burning stove and comfy seating. Snug With a wood burning stove, comfy seating, television and a DVD player. Bunk bedroom Suitable for two children. Shower room With a large shower, wash basin and WC. Utility room With a washing machine and tumble dryer. First Floor: Bedroom one With a 6' super-king size zip and link bed, which can be converted to twin 3' single beds on request. En-suite bathroom With a roll-top bath and hand-held shower, separate shower cubicle, wash basin and WC. Bedroom two With a 6' super-king size zip and link bed, which can be converted to twin 3' single beds on request. Family bathroom With a bath and hand-held shower attachment, separate shower cubicle, wash basin and WC. Outside: Private enclosed garden surrounding the property with patio at the rear including table and chairs. Designated parking at the rear.
