Pls book through the other advertisement. The space Unique, exciting-and full of atmosphere and history. This is how best to describe our house. As the name Villa Gress suggests, it is the refreshment of the renowned writer and community debater ELSA GRESS and her husband, painter CLIFFORD WRIGHT, in 1972 made available by the then owner of Marienborg Gods, Greve Peter Moltke. With the house as a focal point, they created the artist collective 'Decenter' - an experimental alternative to the established art scene – which from 1972 until the mid-80s became the dynamic gathering place for a wealth of artists and intellectuals from both home and abroad. A fascinating, wild and unbridled era, which today is considered a significant milestone in Danish art and cultural history. In 1976, HM Queen Margrethe and Prins Henrik officially visited the place. Guest access Thehouse The house - a curious giant box, supposedly designed by the architect Bindesbøll and built on a meter high granite foundation, functions daily as a work refugium for artists, writers, researchers, journalists and others who need peace of mind for a writing project or a creative task. But when there's space, we want to share the exciting house with others. Here is an amazing atmosphere, magnificent and beautiful nature - and above all ... peace and quiet. If you want to get into gear, this is the place! We have 4 bedrooms - about 15 - 25 m2 - each with its own distinctive character. All simply but cosily and functionally furnished with wide 120x200 beds or double bed (140x200), large desks – and a great view of the forest, meadow or park. If you are more than 5 people, extra beds can be arranged in comfortable hotel folding beds (80x190), so that you can sleep up to 7 people. As a (refugie) guest, you have the many cozy and well-appointed common spaces at your disposal. Enjoy breakfast or lunch in the open air on one of the large sun terraces - or in the dining room with the most beautiful light and views of the park and lake. Well-equipped kitchen with cooking island, oven, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. In the evening, you can relax with your favorite book and red wine in front of the open fireplace. Firewood is included in the price - and you are welcome to borrow books from the library. On the 1st floor you will also find living room/library that can also be used as a work and meeting room. The house has two bathrooms - a large and modern on the 1st floor (with shower) and a separate toilet and bath in the basement. This is an older date. You can also use our well-functioning internet as well as a washer and dryer for free. The house is newly painted, decorated in an evocative mix of new and old and with new appliances. Thesurroundings at Marienborg Gods are unique. Nature, light, air, and space to 'pull out the full-length'... We live in the most remote and peaceful end of the castle park with a giant garden and the forest and lake as our neighbour. Not least, there are optimal opportunities for good relaxing walking or running. It's year-round a rich wildlife with birds, pheasants, deer, and hares. At night – in clear weather - also the wildest starry sky. And then we have plenty of owls! Other things to note The house is primarily suitable for adults who want peace and quiet in inspiring and scenic surroundings. Of course, we expect you to look after the house and fixtures and to leave the house in the same condition as you received it. The house cannot be rented for parties, etc. Warmly welcome...
