The sauna, Gullnäsgården

Enjoy the tranquility and nature at the cosy Gullnäsgården, a retreat-center by the sea on the island of Tjärnö with a bridge connection to the mainland. Non-profit and family-run business since '63 with a vegetarian holistic lifestyle and a focus on breathing, well-being and human development. We offer retreats in yoga and meditation, in between cabin rentals. We have several different houses and cottages, possibility to book several cottages together and to rent the whole farm privately. Contact us for more info. Welcome! The space The sauna is our most secluded cottage where you can enjoy the private location in the middle of nature. The patio is south-facing with associated outdoor furniture. The cottage is comfortable but simply furnished with two beds, table and chairs, dresser, mini-kitchen with two stoves and sink. Water you will bring in to the cabin with a water container from a faucet just outside the cabin up a small pathway. If you follow the path, you will come to an outdoor toilet, and further away (500m) more centrally in the yard there are common toilets and showers. Pets are welcome, dogs are kept on a leash for everyone's well-being. Please bring your own bed linen or rent on site for SEK 150/set. Sleeping bags are not for hygiene reasons. You clean the cottage properly after yourself before departure or buy final cleaning for SEK 300. Let us know if you want to rent sheets or buy final cleaning. Fits year round. The cottage is well insulated and one of the newest additions on the farm, suitable for living in even when it's colder outdoors. In the winter months, we turn off the water to the outdoor faucet and then you get water more centrally at the farm instead. Guest access Feel free to discover our surroundings with high natural values and the sea right next to you. Stroll around the farm, enjoy doing just nothing for a while or explore the islands by kayak and bicycle. Available for rent. Swimming areas are plentiful on the islands. Here you are close to Strömstad (10km), Saltö nature reserve (3km), Kosterhavets marina national park and popular Koster Islands. There are also a lot of other interesting excursions nearby that we're happy to share. We strongly recommend staying more nights in the area because there is a lot to see and do. Welcome to us!
