Inside a precious seventeenth-century shell, a functional and modern environment has been created with designer furnishings by internationally renowned authors. Each object has been chosen in the name of elegance, beauty and luxury, making the environment unique and sumptuous. The private bathroom, connected to the suite, is covered by a rare black marble from Portovenere, one of the most precious in the world. The space You will be welcomed by exclusive and refined design furniture by Luciano Frigerio, a chaise longue and an ottoman by Charles and Ray Eames, as well as works of art by famous international authors that you can admire at the Metropolitan Museum in NY, at the British Museum in London or at the Louvres in Paris. The polychrome coffered ceiling with walls perimetrically decorated by an eighteenth-century frieze, and the refined parquet floor with squares, are original of the seventeenth century. The original light points have been studied and created ad hoc by the designer David Vicario. From the balcony you can enjoy a splendid view of Via Po, with the background of the Gran Madre di Dio and the Turin hill on the left and Palazzo Madama on the right. Guest access The apartment, inhabited for centuries by the Savoy nobility, still preserves its vestiges in the frescoed ceilings or in polychrome coffered as well as in the wooden floors with geometric designs or planks. Items of great high value belong to the original building of the late 17th century, such as polychrome coffered ceilings, paintings on the walls, wooden squared floorboards, mirrors and gilded stuccos above doors. A subsequent structural transformation of the mid-nineteenth century by Alessandro Antonelli – author of the Mole Antonelliana which became a symbol of the city of Turin – is visible in the marble staircase and in the access to the courtyard-side veranda. The gilded stuccos and frescoes on the ceilings of the main hall – signed and dated by the court painter of the House of Savoy, Francesco Gonin (Royal Palace, Villa della Regina) – and of the study – by Federigo Pastoris (Borgo Medioevale del Valentino) – are also from this period.
