Description
The Cottage is a spacious, peaceful and comfortable bungalow on Ditchling Common in the Sussex countryside. Renovated and extended, there are two large double ensuite bedrooms, excellent wifi and a south facing garden for guests. We are located in a small gated community approached by a private lane. Footpaths outside our gate give access to the Common . We are close to the pretty villages of Ditchling, Cuckfield and Lindfield, with easy access to Brighton, Glyndebourne and Gatwick Airport. The space The Cottage is light and airy. The two ensuite bedrooms each have a 5 ft bed, French windows to the terrace and large fitted wardrobes with shelving and full length hanging space. One ensuite has a walk in shower, the other a bath with shower above. The sitting room has a leather sofa and two arm chairs, and there is a large wall mounted tv and the fast fibre broadband wifi hub. The beams on the ceiling are from our old barn. In the winter you may have an open fire (initial supply of logs is provided free of charge). There are folding doors along one side of the room to a large terrace outside, with a wooden table and four chairs, two loungers and a BBQ for you to use in the summer. The dining room furniture is classic Ercol and the kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven and hob, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine and washer/drier. We provide tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits for you on arrival. Guest access There is secure parking for one car inside our electric gate, with an electric car charging point available (please note that no adaptors or leads are supplied). There is space for additional car parking space outside the electric gate. The inside car parking area is also used by myself and husband Guy, and guests at The Dower House. There is a private terrace and garden for your use. The remaining garden areas are for our personal use. Other things to note Our property was originally a farm before becoming a Horse Stud and Riding School, now closed. Although not accessible to guests, we have a renovated barn and cart shed here, and other outbuildings including a former cowshed. We would like to reassure all our guests that the cottage is thoroughly cleaned and aired between stays. This property is a quiet adults only accommodation, so we do not accept children. We are happy to host one well behaved dog, not a puppy, and the garden is securely fenced.
