Westerlands is set in the South Downs National Park, on a quiet farm, this cosy self built cabin, makes it a peaceful spot for a romantic getaway. Impressive views of the South Down hills from your own private outdoor bath and fantastic star gazing. There is plenty of gorgeous woodland walks close by, as well as links to the South Downs way and several lovely local pubs nearby. We now also offer horse riding, yoga, sauna, massage & reflexology, so why not treat yourself? The space Emma’s Cabin Description: get back in touch with nature in your own hidden cabin! Summary: If getting away from it all for the weekend is your thing… you’re in the right place. Cabin is tucked away amongst the fruit trees of plum and apple, and yet within walking distance of wide open farmland and the South Downs themselves! It’s cosy in the winter, well-insulated and once the wood burner is going you will be very toasty. In the summer, you can enjoy the outdoor garden in front of the cabin, there is a hammock to lounge in and a outdoor bath that is suitable throughout the year with sweeping views of the South Downs! Facilities: The cabin has a king size bed and a simple double size sofa bed below if needed. ( Please note it is a small double and probably more suited for kids then adults.) Bedding and towels are provided (but please let me know if you need extra bedding for 2nd sofa bed.) There is electricity, so you can charge phones and laptops. You will have your own private outdoor bathroom , with a outdoor bath, shower, compost toilet and running water that can be used for drinking water which is approximately 3 or 4 meters from the cabin with some steps down that leads to it. Also please be aware the cabin main bed has to be climbed up by a ladder, which is part of the design, you can see in the photos. The Cabin has a fairly basic kitchenette area inside with a electric hob cooker, a small fridge, a kettle, cooking pot, frying pan, plates, bowls, cutlery, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and cooking oil are also available. There is a fire bowl provided outside to make a fire or cook food on. (Fire logs and kindling are provided to make one or two fires and if you need more it’s £8 for a bag of logs, we don't sell kindling but you can purchase that at local garages or village shops ) Here at Westerlands we offer treatments and therapies from the Rose room based at the main Westerlands house. Activities and other facilities on Westerlands farm: - Horse Trekking A fabulous ride through the beautiful woods of Ambersham and Lavington Common or up on the Downs for some spectacular views. Weather dependent due to the ground. Or Pony walk Child rider (4yrs up) or complete beginner. A great way to see the estate without tiring your legs out! All riders are on a lead unless advised. We’re lucky enough to work with an amazing couple who run a small campsite here and do the most delicious food, cooked mostly over a wood-fired grill in the field. It’s seriously amazing! They will be cooking over the spring and summer months at the weekend. (Just a note - please rest assured that the campsite will not ruin your peace and quiet during your stay here. The campsite is positioned far enough away to not be an issue) Emma's horse box café We run a little café from one of our rustic horse boxes, with riding saddles to sit on and to enjoy our delicious local ice creams, smoothies, cakes and of course tea and coffee! Opening times are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9.30 am till 12pm Wild fitness Our outdoor gym will run class or 1:1 sessions bookable through the app or website.
