Cruck'd Barn is one of several converted cattle barns at Hurdlow Grange. What makes this dwelling truly unique is the stunning King Posts Trusses which create a magnificent open-plan setting for you & your guests to spend time together Set in the beautiful surrounding countryside with lots of great walking trails on the doorstep & a fab pub less than a mile away. Dog friendly, we charge an additional £30 per dog for the duration of your stay. We can accept up to 2 dogs. The space To take full advantage of the amazing space created by the original King Post Trusses, the layout of Cruck'd Barn has been flipped. The ground floor is home to 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 ensuites) and the first floor is dedicated to social, relaxing, cooking and dining with your guests. Cruck'd Barn offers the following home comforts: 3 double bedrooms and a bunk bedroom. Bedroom 1 is a cosy double room (beds can be made up as twins if requested) with an ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 2 is another lovely double bedroom with an ensuite shower room. Bedroom 3 is a fixed double bed and bedroom 4 has a set of full-sized bunk beds and a view out onto the courtyard. Bedrooms 3 and 4 share a family bathroom. The three double bedrooms all have lovely views of the rolling fields that stretch out beyond Hurdlow Grange. Please let us know how you would like your beds made up. Some beds can be arranged as twins (details in the listing description) but only if requested at least 7 days in advance. If we do not receive any bedroom requests all beds will automatically be set up as doubles where applicable. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist with late requests, especially upon check-in. If the booking is made within a 7 day period of your arrival date, all beds will automatically be set up as doubles. Upstairs is the breathtaking open-plan first floor and is the centrepiece of Cruck'd Barn. The original elements of the cruck'd beams date back to the 1600s and have been beautifully preserved to create a wonderful space for guests to enjoy. As you reach the top of the stairs you have to your left the spacious lounge area with ample seating for 8 guests with TV, a great spot for relaxing. To the right, you have a modern L shaped modern kitchen, with granite worktops and fully equipped you to have lots of space for cooking. In the centre, you have a stunning farmhouse dining table with ample seating for guests with a mix of chairs and benches. Outdoors you have a private patio area to the front with a BBQ (available from April to October) and picnic benches to seat 8. There is also a small lawn area. The communal courtyard in front of the patio area is where you can park your car. Please be considerate of other guests who may be in neighbouring cottages. Hurdlow Grange also has a communal games room with a Table Tennis table and Table Football. There are 2 x 7kw EV charging stations on site Guest access Guests have access to the whole property. Please be aware that Cruck'd Barn is one of 6 properties on the shared site that makes up Hurdlow Grange. Please be considerate of other guests using the site. The communal courtyard is available for guest parking and parking is available in front of the property. Hurdlow Grange is one of a handful of farm dwellings that make up the rural hamlet of Hurdlow. This area of the Peak District is steeped in history and the first people to occupy dwellings were recorded way back in 1244! Whilst the location of Hurdlow can be described as remote, you are less than a mile away from one of the best pubs in the Peak District. Booking is a must but you can guarantee you will find great food, real ales and a very warm welcome all year round. Other things to note You Should Know Cruck'd Barn is on a shared site Please note that we are dog friendly however there is livestock in the surrounding fields so dogs must be kept under control at all times. For your information, a maximum of two dogs are allowed if pre-arranged - you will be expected to keep them out of the bedrooms and off the soft furnishings. We do charge £30 per dog for the duration of your stay. Please see our dog policy for further details. No fireworks or Chinese Lanterns due to nearby livestock Wifi – we provide free wifi however as the Peak District is in a beautiful rural location sometimes there can be intermittent wifi signal that is beyond our control, we also hope you appreciate that we cannot guarantee wifi if there are technical issues out of our control. Mobile reception - mobile reception can be limited depending on your network The nature of the building means that some bedrooms have sloping roofs Noise Policy - due to the quiet rural location, late night noise must be confined to inside the building by 10pm.
