Greylands Farm Holiday Cottage

A Grade II Listed sandstone cottage, situated on a working beef and sheep farm on the beautiful North Yorkshire coast, just north of Whitby. Lots of room in this pretty cottage, large garden, ample parking in the farmyard. We are in the village of Hinderwell and within walking distance of two great pubs that both do food. Our village has two good pubs that both serve food and are within 200 yards of the farm. The space Greylands Cottage is on a working farm. The cottage has welcomed visitors since 1989 so we hope we are getting it right - most of our visitors return, some every year and are now firm friends. We enjoy showing our visitors around the farm to meet the beef cattle, sheep, and poultry. One of the most popular activities is to collect the fresh eggs every day. Children are not permitted to play alone, so please ensure you are with them at all times. If you visit in the spring we will let you watch the baby lambs being born or watch the cows and their calves in the large barns. Greylands Cottage has two double bedrooms and a twin room. Prices are set for 1-2 guests using one bedroom, 2-3 guests using 2 bedrooms and 5-6 guests using 3 bedrooms. Please enter the correct number of guests to be able to use the bedrooms you require. ie. 3 guests in a room each - you need to book as for 5 guests. Guest access Depending on which field the sheep and cattle are grazing in - we allow our visitors access to the fields which lead up to the cliff tops and the national footpath - Cleveland Way and the heritage coast - from there it is an easy walk to Staithes or Runswick Bay, great circular routes of just over an hour. Other things to note We have a brilliant village, lots of good places to eat - two pubs , a fish and chip shop and a bistro. There is a mobile Post Office and an excellent Butchers/newsagent all within 200 yards of the cottage. We welcome, small dogs, which must be kept under control DOGS : Not welcome on a livestock farm.
