Description

We welcome outdoor enthusiasts to our beautiful cabin in Holmsundfjorden in Gildeskål, 1 hour drive south from Bodø. The cabin is idyllic and undisturbed all the way down to the sea. The cabin has a boathouse with a 14-foot boat with 10 HP outboard motor. The cabin also has a great, private sauna barrel right by the water, and an outdoor jacuzzi (this is new as of July 2025). Formidable hiking and fishing opportunities await you in Gildeskål, and we are happy to suggest top tours and smaller family trips for you. The space The main cabin has 3 bedrooms with a double bed in each bedroom. There are also extra sleeping places on the loft. The cabin also has an annex with 4 beds (a double bed and a bunk bed). Popular nearby attractions are Saltstraumen (35 km), Langsanden on Sandhornøya (18 km), Sandhornet (29 km), Kjerringøy (104 km), Gildeskål Old Church (30 km) and Svartisen (95 km). Less than 1 km from the cabin you will find Polar Spot Norway, where you can rent other types of boats, also with a guide, and buy a dinner (open May-September). Grocery store is located at Nygårdsjøen (7 km). Bodø, 60 km north, offers a lot of fun for all ages: water park, the world's most beautiful library (in our opinion :)), good restaurants, Norwegian Aviation Museum, Mørkvedhallen climbing center, Jektefartsmuseet, cinema and Northern Norway's largest shopping center, City Nord. NB: the cabin is unfortunately not handicap friendly. There is a road almost all the way, but you have to go down some pretty steep stairs from the road and down to the cabin, which means that the cabin is not suitable if you have bad legs. Guests will have to clean the cabin themselves after use. Alternatively, pay NOK 2,000 for cleaning. Bed linen and towels can be rented for NOK 200 per set. The boat is used at your own risk and should only be used by people who have experience with boats. Guests must bring their own fishing gear. We think it's nice to be able to rent out our cabin to outdoor enthusiasts, responsible and positive people during periods when we don't use the cabin ourselves. So far we only have good experiences with renting, You are welcome :) PS: If you have rented from us before, or you are 4 people or less, ask us for a discount! Guest access There are 3 parking spaces available. Other things to note Guests must clean the cabin themselves after use. Possibly pay NOK 2000 for cleaning. Bed sheets and towels can be rented for NOK 200 per set. The boat is used at your own risk, and is only to be used by people who have experience with a boat. Fishing equipment must be brought by guests themselves. There are life jackets in the boathouse. Guests must provide their own fuel (gasoline) on the boat. The boat is not available from approx. October to April due to winter and ice on the fjord. The sauna and jaccuzzi are included when you rent the cottage. Regarding the bathroom: access to the bathroom with toilet is through one of the bedrooms in the cabin. (This is because the cabin originally only had an outhouse, and in recent times an extension has been built with a bedroom and bathroom with jets cabin toilet). The bathroom without toilet (with shower and sink) has access from the hallway.
