Cottage in Dunbar borough

Welcome to Humming Bird Haven, tucked away in the Laurel Highlands just minutes from Ohiopyle. Enjoy this getaway property that has an updated kitchen with a beautiful live edge dining table. Use this cottage as a base to enjoy the many activities the area has to offer or just relax on the large open porch. A small creek runs through the property with a fire pit area and a large hammock to bird watch in. We are nestled in between a small farm and an old junk yard filled with rusty cars. The space There is a large storage garage on site that is detached from the main house you will be staying in. We will occasionally use the sleeping quarters or need to access equipment in the garage. We will inform you if we plan on stopping by, but you shouldn't even notice we are there. The storage garage has a small sleeping quarters that ourselves and friends occasionally use when paddling the river, when we do use it we usually get there late in the evening and leave early to get on the river. You won't even know we we were there, outside of the additional car in the driveway, and we can always park in the yard if the driveway is full or we feel the car would be in your way.. We understand most of our guests are looking for a getaway experience and we don't want to take away from that, so when the sleeping quarters are being used we are quite and respectful of our guests in the main house and dont plan on interacting or bothering you unless you need us for something. When we do use the sleeping quarters in the garage, it is always just for one night so we are close to the take out to set shuttle in the morning. Once again it is our goal that use shouldn't notice us when we do. There is also an old shed building that is best stayed away from as it is run down. We appointed the home with a Frank Lloyd Wright inspiration to give the Cottage a true getaway feel. Linens and bedding are provided. Two queen beds in the bedrooms and there are two futons in the living room. Full kitchen with dishwasher. WIFI available on property. Large yard with Fire pit. Other things to note although we do our best to treat for bugs, you are in a remote rural settings, so some bugs may be present. House is on Well and Septic. Well water - It is safe to drink, although it has high mineral content. It can have a slight smell from the iron, giving it at times a sulfur smell amd silky feeling in the shower. We do provide a starting amount of bottles of water in addition to a zero ppm water filter. We have tested the well water, and it is cleaner than most city water outside of it's high mineral content, and ourselves and our dogs drink it without issue. Septic - The septic system is sensitive to things outside of human waste and toliet paper. Please use the waste basket in the bathroom for all other refuse.
