Villa La Coccola is a charming farmhouse whose oldest part dates back to the mid-1700s. Leaning against a terraced terrain that determines its main characteristic, with a marked line of limestone blocks facing the pool area and the pool house, Villa La Coccola welcomes guests by immediately showing itself for what it is... a beautiful refuge for those seeking relaxation and tranquility. The space The upper area looks like a balcony on the hills that slope down into the underlying valley boasting a 180 degrees view over this characteristic part of Tuscany, to admire, maybe at sunset, enjoying a glass of wine by the pool. The large yard facing the pool house has several seats suitable for resting, having a conversation or reading a book. The pool in travertine and ceramic tiles surrounded by a larch wood platform, has an elongated, strict and narrow shape, reminiscent of the ancient tanks where the farm animals were watered. The water is salty, has two hydrojets and can be heated upon request (€ 500 supplement to be paid on spot), thus allowing guests to enjoy the pool even in colder months (closed from 1st November to 30th March, when the weather is fine it might be open the first weeks of November as well). Guest access The pool house, built from an old barn, is an open space, where on the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen (large fridge with freezer, 5-burner stove, dishwasher, wine cellar, microwave, kettle, toaster, etc.) and in the loft there is a living room with satellite TV area. Guests can dine under the veranda of the pool house, right in front of the pool, enjoying the atmosphere and beauty of the surrounding landscape. On the ground floor of the main farmhouse there is a large open-plan living room with a living area (satellite TV), a second equipped kitchen (oven with freezer, 5-burner stove, dishwasher) and a dining area. Beyond the living room is a passage room with a sofa bed and a half and a bathroom. Also on the ground floor there is a laundry room with a washing machine and a dryer. On the first floor there are three bedrooms with finely furnished double beds, each with a color that distinguishes it, all with ensuite bathroom and equipped with air conditioning. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and a walk-through room where there is a single sofa bed, and can be comfortably used as a triple room. The purple room also has a king-size bed; in both cases, the king-size bed can be separated and transformed into two double beds. Thanks to the terrace, the rooms have direct access to the outside from the back, to the side of the pool, which can be reached by climbing a short flight of steps. A fourth bedroom is located in the turret in front of the farmyard, has private access and is also equipped with air conditioning and an ensuite bathroom with shower. The exteriors are embellished with flowers, bushes, medicinal plants and trees. Barbecue available. At the entrance, beyond the automatic gate, guests will find a large parking lot where they can park their cars and reach the villa with a pleasant walk. La Coccola is set in the context of the typical Tuscan landscape made up of vineyards, olive groves, cypresses, woods, farms and villages. From the villa you can reach the center of the city of Poggibonsi in a few minutes, with shops of all kinds and two supermarkets. There are multiple restaurants where you can dine. It is worth a visit to the Medici Fortress of Poggio Imperiale, the largest built by Lorenzo the Magnificent, a unique stage from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Chianti hills. Villa la Coccola is also an excellent logistical base to visit Tuscany thanks to its central location. In a short time you can reach S. Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, Florence, Chianti, Val D'Orcia, Pisa, Lucca and the coast, and all the other beauties of Tuscany within a short distance. Guests can organize themed dinners, excursions on foot, by bike, by scooter, wine and oil tastings, truffle hunting, personalized cultural trips... in short, everything for an unforgettable holiday in Tuscany. Other things to note The pool can be heated for an additional fee (to be requested at least 3 days before arrival and for a minimum of 4 days). The living areas can be heated with a pellet stove (pellets for a fee), the rooms have air conditioning.
