Description

2BR Saskatoon Cottage is an eclectic midcentury modern-cum-cowboy charmer with a modern essentials to make your stay in Washington State's heartland cozy and comfortable. Regional attractions are easy day trips -- less than 2 hours each way. Walk to grocery store (2 blocks). Gorgeous lake and beach just a few minutes away (a semi-secret off the tourist path!) Not suitable for children or the physically challenged. Small pet friendly. Early checkin or late checkout possible. The space Saskatoon is the second largest of my Kokanee Cottages, with two wee bedrooms and everything you need for a great night's sleep - vintage double beds (note: shorter than modern queen and king beds) with cotton sheets and quilts, lots of pillows, and 12-inch memory foam mattresses. Air conditioning in the summer. The midcentury modern living/dining room has a western flair, and is a great place to visit or play games with friends and family, read books, do jigsaw puzzles, or watch Netflix. The galley kitchen is teensy but practical, with a range for pancakes and pizzas, a full-size fridge for icy cold drinks (glasses in the freezer), microwave, blender, toaster, coffee maker, and espresso machine. Other appliances stored next door and available on request. The little bathroom has a shower (no tub). Saskatoon is located at the rear of the property, with Salmon creek just a few feet away. Vintage furnishings add interest without losing the casual comfort you want on a vacation getaway. Guest access You have access to Saskatoon Cottage (unit 5) and a charcoal BBQ grill. Camping/sporting equipment can be borrowed at your own risk, and must be returned clean and in good condition (stored in the house next door). There may or may not be guests (or me!) in the other Kokanee Cottages - Tamarack and Pine Cone (units 1 and 2 1BR each duplex), 2BR Cottonwood (unit 3), and Nootka Rose (unit 4). Lots of parking space in the gravel lot that fronts the cottages. Other things to note - There are no fans in the kitchen and bathroom, so please use the dehumidifier in the bathroom if there is a lot of shower activity or a lot of moist cookery. - Please poop scoop your dog on the property and fronting sidewalk. - Garbage pickup is Thursday morning. - Please tidy up before you leave - the cleaning fee covers laundering bed linens and towels, sanitizing the kitchen and bathroom, dusting, vacuuming/washing floors. It does NOT include doing dishes or putting things away, please take care of those tasks before you leave. Also, please also drop the trash in one of the green bins outside. Thank you! SUMMER ALERT: Removing shoes when going inside will prevent nasty goathead burrs from embedding themselves in the carpet and then in your feet. EXTENDED-STAY GUESTS: - For stays longer than one week, there is a mandatory weekly cleaning (and fee) factored into the discounted rate to keep the bed linens changed and the bath and kitchen areas up to snuff. The cottage must be tidied and dishes done before the scheduled weekly cleaning. - There is no mail service to the cottages, but the post office is just 6 blocks north and you can add your name to the Kokanee Cottages PO Box.
