Another travel alternative is to skirt Lake Panguipulli towards Lake Pirihueico. There are several viewpoints along the way with spectacular views. On the way you will come to a fork in the road. Turn right to reach Choshuenco, a small town at the start of Lake Panguipulli, where you will find a beautiful beach. On this beach, you will also find the abandoned famous ENCO steamship, which before the road that borders the lake existed was the only means of transportation that the people of the area had to move to Panguipulli, where they could stock up on their food, have medical assistance, sell their crops and even take their loved ones to the cemetery for burial. From Choshuenco, return and follow the road to Puerto Fuy, passing through Neltume, where wood crafts are an attraction. A few kilometers down the road is Puerto Fuy, and there is Lake Pirihueico, a beautiful and narrow lake. This has a journey of an hour and a half approx. on a ferry which takes you to the town of Puerto Pirihueico. To cross, you must first check the schedules and availability.
